If anyone would ask me about my favourite animal, the answer would be: Bees, of course. And why would that be? Well, thinking about a nearly entirely female society where men are thrown out when their service is not required anymore? I'd never do that, of course (Hmm, should keep that in mind when I'm all alone cleaning the house ...)
No, it's just that the first TV series I was hooked on as a kid was Maja, the bee, an anime based on the book by Waldemar Bonsels. Some sort of early-childhood conditioning, I think. Maja is cheeky, warm-hearted and surely not the typical, hard working neighbour-hive bee. No, after realising that living in the hive meant never ceasing hardships she left with Willy, the ever-lazy drone to drift from one adventure to the next.
Well, I only experience adventures while reading. Books, Magazines, flyers ... nothing is save from me. I'm always having some books - or fanfics - queued up.
I'm married, have an adult daughter and am working full time as an IT worker bee. My first language is German (or rather a slang thereof), but after beeing forced to learn English at school, somehow I'm reluctant to let my knowledge of that language slip away. After just havig done reading in English for some years I'm searching for a way to keep being able to articulate myself in my second language. Maybe keeping a Journal can help with that. I hope to befriend some people out there who won't mind incoherencies and mistakes in my ramblings and would not shy away from correcting me now and then.
