Next up is Oaxaca and Puebla, Mexico. We took an archaeological tour because my husband wanted to go back to Monte Alban. Road Scholar is a good company, giving us a lot for the money and they also include lectures on the history/culture of the places we visit.
So here's the next trip. March 24 - walking tour of old Oaxaca. First up was a lecture on Oaxaca’s history. Then over the Santo Domingo temple which was lovely. Very ornate with lots of gold carvings. Then to the Oaxaca culture museum which included gold objects from the Monte Alban site and the skull partially covered in turquoise. After that, we stopped at the cathedral of Oaxaca for a quick look inside (more understated with gothic architecture). Then after lunch, through the Mercado Benito Juarez which I found claustrophobic. Then another shopping area, a quick stop to a chocolate place and finally dinner. I am beat!

There were a lot of political signs near our hotel.
