High above pasture

Hawk flies on warm upward wind

Shadow moves on land.

Winter we break ice

Spring air is cool for riding

Summer flies and sweat.

Haze rises from ground

After the rain, tall grasses

You see me coming.

Gets two treats in bed

Knows his side is on the left

Purrs, curls at my side.

Ephemerals rise with sun

Tiny bit of joy.

Cut from my neighbors front yard

Feast for my journal.

His tail, wings, in winter brush

Hip-hop bird ballet.
