Delia Battista is something of an Orion mercenary often in the employ of various government bodies, such as the Federation or Klingon Empire. Delia often operates as a mercenary privateer, diplomat, and/or cargo runner, as she has no specific ties to any particular organization (though most of her equipment is Klingon in origin), she often can get or have connections where other people don't (many of whom are on various sides of various laws).

In Earth terms, she's around 36 years of age, born and raised largely in space.

She tends to dress in comfortable clothing when her version of a uniform isn't needed, allowing for ease of movement, and catching the eye. Often forgoes shoes.

Delia is flirty, easygoing, playful, and friendly. But this all belies the fact that she's the daughter of a ruthless pirate queen and thus trained in a great many skills regarding this. Delia herself can be similarly ruthless, but generally prefers not to be, as she more naturally wants to wheel, deal, and let everyone come off the situation better and at least alive. Delia tends to treat sex as something she does extremely casually, with people she likes, or to help in whatever she's doing.

This is not, however, to say her soft touch is weak. Delia is and can, absolutely, be extremely dangerous when she needs to be. She just prefers not to be.

Delia's skills largely lie in her being an extremely observant reader of people, a tactician with a flair for the unconventional, and is a fairly effective pilot with an innate understanding of most ship controls. She's also been trained with various bladed weapons, hand-to-hand, and is a fairly proficient sniper when necessary.

Speaking as her player, I'm also willing to AU her into various universes or scenarios as needed (such as changing her timeframe ranging from STO's to somewhere in TOS/NuTrek, TNG/DS9, or pushing her forward into the 31st century, etc).

Generally, for most memes, I tend to treat Delia's timeline kind of like a slider with other Star Trek characters, since it's kind of open ended and not strictly reliant on Star Trek Online's timeline to work.

Which is to say, if I'm threading with someone from DS9 as an example, I usually assume Delia's timeline effectively matches with theirs, in that she's in her mid thirties in whatever point in time they're from (unless otherwise requested or stated), and not temporally or dimension-ally displaced unless otherwise specified or requested. The universe is big! You might know her, you might not! Both are pretty damn likely.

Imho, this makes it less complicated than to assume temporal or dimensional shenanigans, even though the various forms of Star Trek aren't any stranger to them.

That said, it has been recently proposed to me to do occasional, full on AU's. And y'know what, I'm a shameless sucker for that sort of shenanigans, so let's lean hard into it.

I'll write out more on them later, and probably post it at some point. This post mostly exists to keep up with various threads.

When threading with folks with other canons? I just kinda roll with it. In some cases I just assume Orions (and thus, Delia) exist in their reality. Somehow. For comic-related (and adjacent, such as movies or tv shows) canons, this just kinda works, since they have a lot of alien races, humanoid and otherwise. Otherwise, just put it up to meme or alternate universe weirdness.

This post refers to her STO incarnation, but I've started semi-divorcing Delia from her dependency on their timeline. It's still a useful reference for the relevant background characters she occasionally mentions, or her notorious pirate queen mother.

Freelance. Robin-hood-esque pirate/mercenary.
Often takes mercenary jobs Fed-side due to her agreeing with many of their ideals.

• Mirror Universe (and various incarnations therein)
This Delia is Not Nice.
The Main One:
Unlike her Prime/Kelvin versions who take inspiration from the Federation and its related peoples

Mirror Delia takes her inspiration from the Terran Empire, and instead of washing her hands of Chastain Family Bullshit™, she killed her mother and took over the Mirror version of the Black Flotilla.

• A sub-AU version of this is a Mirror Delia who's actually part of the Terran Empire, having earned her way in through good old fashioned sex, a fair bit of murder, and plain old ruthlessness.

• Hilariously, the one universe that Delia and her mother's views even remotely align, is the Confederation timeline from Picard's series, in that they're both members and suppliers for the resistance forces, albeit with differing methods.

• 31st/32nd century Delia, having lived through the tail end of the Burn.
Sub AU of this: Academy Instructor Delia

• And finally, various AU's where Delia's joined Starfleet, or is in the Academy, etc.

• In those aforementioned Starfleet AU's, Delia tends to be on the Command Track (rank depending on what we want to do), or at the very least in Security, in addition to her piloting skills.
