Okay, so here is the sign up form. There still hasn't been a lot of interest, but maybe people will come out of the woodwork and sign up. The sign up form will be open for a week and if we don't have at least 10 participants, we'll have to cancel the challenge for the year. (So it would really help if you made all of your friends sign up, too.)

While it is necessary for everyone participating to post by midnight on Thursday, December 14 (US Eastern time), do remember that you'll be able to edit your fanwork as many times as you want before the definite deadline on December 24th.

So don't fret if your fanwork is at the rough draft stage. You will have about 9 days to spiffy it up.

That said, please let us know if you need to drop out! Since this is a holiday exchange, we want to make sure that everyone will get a prezzie. You can PM us (

We all have had those moments after signing-up for an exchange when we realize that we've forgotten something after the fact. Maybe we wanted to put a couple of prompts out there or go a little bit more into detail about why we like A/B or A/B/X pairings or trope/cliche/kink.

That's where the Dear Amp Elf letter comes in.

How it works:

You write a Dear Amp Elf letter over at your LJ/DW/Tumblr where you talk some more about your request. Or offer prompts that will give your creator a more solid idea of what you'd like to receive. If you don't remember what was it that you wrote at sign-ups, head on over to the sign-ups post. Your comment is still there (screened).

Then, you post the link to your letter in the comments section below.

If your LJ/DW is locked, then you can post the letter in its entirety on the comments.

So, the creators of all of the fantastic fanworks have been revealed, and we can dance around celebrating.

Creators, if you haven't already done so, please change the posting date to today so that it will show up in the tag feeds. Remember to edit in any notes that you need - always thank you betas and cheerleaders and other relevant peoples.

There is a wide variety of characters and pairing this year - with no less than THREE stories featuring one of my personal favorites, James Dewees. We got a Lindsey-centric story, one that included the lovely Laura Jane Grace, and the rare pair of Ray Toro/Gerard Way. And the ever constant pairings of Frank/Gerard and Patrick/Pete. There are two (TWO!) rope bondage stories, an animal transformation story, slice of life stories, FAKE DATING, magical realism, sparkly reindeer, and Pinterest.

There are two awesome podfic and a simply amazing comic. There is humor, angst, heat, friendship, love, laughter. There is a squirrel.

There really is something for everyone. Please, please, please take the time to experience these fanworks and leave a kudos and/or a comment. And please consider consuming fanworks outside of your comfort zone; bandom creators need all the love and support they can get.

I'm especially proud of the participants this year, the work they've done has been stunningly good and they should be proud of themselves.
