I hope this letter finds you well. I am writing to you in a time of great need, a need for more fanvid. About things I like.


So here goes the usual disclaimer: vid what you want, how you want it, it's gonna be dope. 💛 Below is some more detail about my requests, should you require it.

Trigger-wise, I don't have any physical triggers. And my requests shouldn't contain any others that you need to worry about.

I like all vids, let's get it! If you're considering a shipper vid or any sort of relationship study, I'm noting my ships in the request (where applicable) and I'm down with het, (fem)slash, poly or not, all good.

This trend is pretty much over, but I keep copying this from letter to letter just in case: I don't really like mashups and I'd be thankful if you would exclude them when deciding on music for the vid. 😅 Everything else is fine, I love music so much, across genres. Here's my last.fm page, if you're curious.

Also, since I'm requesting some non-English-language sources, please feel free to use music with non-English lyrics. I would be thankful for a translation, if you can manage, but whatever works.

In the SOOP BTS편 | In the SOOP BTS ver.

Just seven dudes and their ten closest cameramen hanging out in a house for a week.

The whole show was them cooking together, eating together, then talking about what to cook next. Top notch content, here for it! It has been my comfort watch recently and I love it so much. The most stressed this show made me was worrying if they would get food poisining from whatever they did to those poor chickens they were trying to fry.

I'm basically envisioning two ways for this to go:

1. Serotonin boost: just an upbeat vid of them giggling and doing the dumb shit they do.
   • Big mood: "And that is how Jimin bruised his knee."
2. The most soothing vid ever made. Heal me with your beautiful vidding ways!
   • Big mood: V vibin in a canoo.

If you consider my vision too limiting, if you envision three, four, five other ways for this to go: don't let me stop you. Go for it.

Also: Jin is my bias. I'm ot7 ride or die, any combination of Bangtans works for me. Feel free to strongly lean into the gay. I don't even mean in a shipper vid way, they make it gay just by being there and we should support that.

Jelle's Marble Runs (Web Series)

A vague timeline of events:

• 2019, at some point between Christmas and New Year's: friend links me to this channel
• 2019, 5 seconds after previous point: I'm definitely nominating this for festivids! It's so quirky and niche and I am the only person who knows this exists!
• 2020, Mar 24: Olympic Games rescheduled due to Covid
• 2020, 5 seconds after previous point: But at least we still have the Marblelympics!
• 2020, Jun 18: Marble League 2020 begins posting, "presented by Last Week Tonight with John Oliver"
• 2020, 5 seconds after previous point: Oh I guess it's not that niche after all.

I genuinely thought Marblelympics would make for a great #sports #narrative Olympic feelings replacement vid. But I don't know why I thought that. It's static and slow and there's no faces lmao.

Nevertheless requesting it. There's so many talented vidders and maybe somebody is feeling inspired to turn this into a great sports vid, or maybe they see something else in it.

The channel has a whole bunch of other events, they don't only do Marble League. But Marble League is the only thing I've watched so far. So while my request is focusing on Marble League specifically, you are of course in no way required to only use those videos.

Oh also, Team Oceanics all the way. #TidePride! I fell in love with them in the Marble League 2019 because they were the host and they SUCKED SO HARD. It was very tragic.

그녀의 사생활 | Her Private Life (TV 2019)

Show of my dreams! Somebody took all of my favorite romcom tropes and turned them into a TV show. Just for me! I love this show so much, I love all the characters *so much*! This show is my everything. Anything you want to do here will be perfect. A general vid about the show or about any of the themes, or a vid about Sung Deok-mi, or about Ryan or Deok-mi/Ryan, or about the joy of being a fangirl, or about the fangirl bond between Deok-mi and Seon-joo, or anything else. It all would be beautiful and perfect! [takes a deep breath] FAKE DATING!!!!!

힐러 | Healer

This show was not what I expected. But I loved it so much! I am completely whipped for Healer, a character study for him would be great! Or about Chae Young-shin, I felt kinship with her when she serenaded her bed and my love for her only grew from there. Or an ensemble piece how they're all finding (back) together and team up. 💛

An action vid would also be cool, this show looks really slick, even six years later. Or, well, you could get into the actual themes and plot of the show. Something about the underdog fighting against money, power, corruption. About choosing love. About family, lost and found. The show provides so many angles for a vid, I'd be happy with anything you choose to use.

Style Wars (1983) [SAFETY]

Style Wars influenced me a lot as a teenager, it's a documentary that is very dear to my heart. These kids are wonderful and funny and talented and I'd love a vid that's a celebration of the culture – regardless of if you want to approach it from a people or an art perspective or both.

My favorite artists of the bunch featured in the documentary were Dondi and Kase2. Skeme and his mother are my overall favorite part of the documentary. Just mentioning this in case you want to focus on someone specific, but don't feel like you have to.

There's also of course a very political side to all of this. I won't pretend to know much about politics and race in NYC in the lates 70s/early 80s, but I'd nevertheless love to see a vid about it.

Buzzfeed Unsolved (Web Series)

What with the bf/watcher split I had a hard time deciding which fandoms to nominate. When I wrote my letter last year Watcher wasn't a thing yet, I really don't understand how time works anymore. Anyway, I did a sort of questionable thing of only requesting Unsolved. My reasoning is that Watcher happened and I promptly switched fandoms, like, five separate times and have been very busy watching stuff that isn't Watcher videos. 😬

But I haven't moved on yet. I am still here for the greatest idiots that ever lived. So I'm only nominating Unsolved, because I'm familiar with it and know what to ask for. And I'm asking for Ryan/Shane or Ryan&Shane or Ryan or Shane. Or horror. Or comedy. Or whacky hijinx. Can include any amount of the Hot Daga you're comfortable with.

Watcher Entertainment

Just Kidding! I had a request slot free, so why the heck not. But what I wrote above is still true, so, uh, I can't give you any directions lmao. But I'm here for the greatest idiots and their friend Steven, who also happens to be an idiot. (I say this with only love and affection.)

Also feel free to mix and match with Unsolved or any other Buzzfeed videos you want to bring into this.

If you're considering a shipper vid (you don't need to), this is a Ryan/Shane only type of situation for me.

Nightlife (2020) [SAFETY]

Uh, honestly went into this movie expecting it to be terrible but at least for Elyas M'Barek to be shirtless. Turned out to be a pretty fun movie but the shirt stays on. Oh well!

I'd love a funny action vid. But you can also focus on any of the characters if you'd prefer. Or a vid about how all of them are bonding over the course of their ~adventure. Anything works for me, really!
