Trigger-wise, I don't have any physical triggers. And my requests shouldn't contain any others that you need to worry about.

Style Wars influenced me a lot as a teenager, it's a documentary that is very dear to my heart. These kids are wonderful and funny and talented and I'd love a vid that's a celebration of their art, their culture, their world.

This movie conveys so well the joy of a night out when you’re young, of possibilities and adventure. I also love how it conveys that we, all of us, are a community, even while being strangers.

But what drew me to it is simply how visually stunning it is. The benefit of animation over live-action is that animators can go absolutely ham. This movie understands that. :D

I think there’s many parts you could focus on here, I am open to all of it. I understand the romance plot is part of the movie and I don't mind it, you don't have to ignore it. But I'd prefer if you didn't make a straight-up shippy vid.

Time loop! Time loop! Time loop!

The movie is so funny, especially visually. I would love a funny vid that's all about the chaos of the situation and the people in it. It's a great ensemble. You could also focus on that, how these people work together to get out of the loop. Or maybe you want to play with the time loop structure?

I will be happy with anything and everything here, really.

九龍城寨之圍城 | Twilight of the Warriors: Walled In (2024) [SAFETY]

I watched this movie expecting nothing but martial-arts action for two hours. And I got that. And it looks amazing.

What I didn't expect, and also got in spades, is so much heart. These characters are so wonderful??? They are so incredibly gay for each other??? You can ship in any and every direction and this movie will support your thesis!

Honestly, a treasure trove, so many possibilities to vid your heart out. Action, shippy, found family, revenge, "this is that movie", character-focus, ambience, I will gladly take any and all of these things!

I must say, Koo absolutely rocked my socks off. I loved him the most. But I'm also absolutely ride or die for the OT4, shippy or no. ...Okay I started listing all the characters and relationships I loved in the movie but I hit backspace, I just need to tap the sign up there again. I am on board with every character and every ship that spoke to you.

Yes, hello, that's a radio play about a British and a Danish governor arguing over an uninhabited island and the relationship that develops through that. I have no clue how to turn this into a vid, but if somebody does, I would cherrish that vid and the vidder forever!

I have listened to this play a million times, that is only slight hyperbole because I often listen to it to fall asleep. 😂

The penguins are a metaphor!

This play is just so incredibly funny, the banter is so good, their chemistry is so great. They think the penguins are the soap but the penguins undoubtedly watch these two like "check those fools out!"

Anyway, "you are so close to Denmark you are about to bump into Denmark." [bump] "Welcome to Denmark."

I Saw the TV Glow (2024) [SAFETY]

Gosh. I kept thinking about this movie for a while after watching it. I still think about it. Absolutely adore it. Sadly that didn't give me any coherence on the matter.

I always ramble on so long for my requests, and I feel like I need to do that here as well, otherwise it looks like I care about this movie less. But the thing is, it's the other way around. 😅 I really, really loved this movie, and that means you have carte blanche. Any vid you make means I get a TV Glow vid, and thus I get a beautiful present.

If you keep reading, I have one further out-there proposal for how you could combine this with my next request.

myhouse.wad (Video Game)

MyHouse.WAD - Inside Doom's Most Terrifying Mod, which is a 1h 42min explainer of the thing. 😂

Everyone who doesn't know myhouse.wad will simply not read this. But it delights me to imagine how somebody might, and how nonsensical it all will sound. :D

Here's my take on it:
Obviously, my reading is a queer one. Shocker. 😂

And I think whichever ending you choose, that's the only ending that actually happened. Nothing that's revealed through any of the other endings happens then.

That means I think Steven only dies with Tom if you burn the house down. If you make it to the real beach, Steven is also still alive. You could argue that this means Steven then also wasn't married to Tom, to which I say: psh.
Nothing from the other endings contradicts that they're together, it's just never as explicit as in that obituary for Steven. Which is to say it's never explicit. So you get to decide.

This does not mean that I require you to also have that reading. I just really felt like writing down my theory, it's not like I had much opportunity to talk about this. 😂

The fun thing about this wild trip of a multimedia experience is that everyone gets to create their own reading. So I would love to see your take on this as a vid. Even (especially?) if you wildly disagree with me.

You don't have to go red yarn on a corkboard on me at all, though. Just the fact that somebody created this absolute trip is worth celebrating without trying to make sense of it. Just the technical skill and creativity put into this mod is worth celebrating.

One side note, I have not read House of Leaves, I don't know anything about it. And I don't plan on reading it. If that is an important aspect for you, feel free to go deep into it, just know that this nuance will be lost on me.

I Saw the TV Glow + myhouse.wad???

Now, one more thing. I don't know if anybody is picking up what I'm putting down.
I don't even know if I am picking up what I'm putting down.
But I'm putting it down regardless.

If you would like, you could combine I Saw the TV Glow and myhouse.wad into one vid. I don't know how you would combine them, but I have a lot of confidence in festividders.

I'm just seeing similarities in the two. Which could simply be because myhouse.wad was on my mind already when I watched TV Glow, I don't know. This very well could be nothing.

I'm seeing themes of grief in both. I'm reluctant to call what happens in TV Glow grief, because "there is still time." But I don't know what else to call it?
The story in a story aspect, the medium (TV show, game) as a medium. And which part of it is the fiction?
The melancholy.
How something (TV show, game) can be a vehicle for bonding.
How a hobby, your first hobbies, shapes who you become.
That media is transformative, it can itself be a vehicle for further storytelling. It can be used for self-expression and even self-actualization.

Obviously ignore this if you want, it's completely whatever. These two fandoms just both spoke to me on that level and if they also did that for you, know that you have an eager listener/viewer in your corner.
