The usual disclaimer: vid what you want, how you want it, it's gonna be dope. 💛 Below is some more detail about my requests – really just rambling – should you require it.

Trigger-wise, I don't have any physical triggers. And my requests shouldn't contain any others that you need to worry about.

Vampire humaniste cherche suicidaire consentant | Humanist Vampire Seeking Consenting Suicidal Person (2023) [SAFETY]

This has been my favorite feel-good movie of the last few years. I love this whacky human boy and goth vampire girl. This movie is just so cool and so sweet and so funny.
I would love a vid that's highlighting any aspect of the movie that especially spoke to you, be it either visually or content-wise.
You could also make a vid about the two leads, shippy or not, either is cool with me. Or do a character focus on any of them.
You could also focus on the vampire worldbuilding of this movie or just do a retelling of their wild, wild night.
It's just such a wonderful movie, you know?

Jokey bonus: I think this movie being Quebecois makes it 100x funnier. I don't speak French (any of the Frenchs), nor am I Canadian. But you look at these vampires and think, Yes, they absolutely should speak a special version of French.
And you get problematic age difference for free, because he's a high-school student and she's 68 but that's basically high-school student in vampire age. 😂

Femme (2023) [SAFETY]

Okay so on the opposite end of the spectrum of Humanist Vampire we have Femme.

Also absolutely blown away by this movie, but it kinda broke me and did not bother putting me back together. 😂 You start this movie and there is zero doubt, this can not end well for anybody. A person who beat someone up for being in drag and a person who wants to publish revenge porn to get back at the person who beat him up can not find a happy end.
But then the story plays out, Nathan Stewart-Jarrett and George MacKay bedazzle and distract you and suddenly you find yourself hoping that these characters find happiness. And a special fuck you to George MacKay for making me wish happiness for a closeted gay basher. 😂

So, I absolutely adored the two leads in this. A movie about their dynamic and their messed up relationship would rule.
I think the movie makes a great point about playing characters, about hiding behind characters. Both Jules and Preston play characters. Drag characters, macho characters, straight characters. Sometimes they are helpful, they give strength. Sometimes the characters are trapped and hurt by them. Both of them are just so afraid to be themselves.
I think there is a lot there you could vid about.

But I absolutely loved Nathan Stewart-Jarrett's performance, if you'd rather focus on one character.
The way he showed Jules' vulnerability, how much Jules hates being vulnerable. Every time Jules was afraid, I was afraid. It was so visceral.
And his code switching was so great, how he enjoys how much better he's at it than Preston.

Anyway, in conclusions: fuck me up real good, I look forward to it! :D

The movie is so funny, especially visually. I would love a funny vid that's all about the chaos of the situation and the people in it. It's a great ensemble. You could also focus on that, how these people work together to get out of the loop. Or maybe you want to play with the time loop structure?

I will be happy with anything and everything here, really.

九龍城寨之圍城 | Twilight of the Warriors: Walled In (2024) [SAFETY]

I watched this movie expecting nothing but martial-arts action for two hours. And I got that. And it looks amazing.

What I didn't expect, and also got in spades, is so much heart. These characters are so wonderful??? They are so incredibly gay for each other??? You can ship in any and every direction and this movie will support your thesis!

Honestly, a treasure trove, so many possibilities to vid your heart out. Action, shippy, found family, revenge, "this is that movie", character-focus, ambience, I will gladly take any and all of these things!

I must say, Koo absolutely rocked my socks off. I loved him the most. But I'm also absolutely ride or die for the OT4, shippy or no. ...Okay I started listing all the characters and relationships I loved in the movie but I hit backspace, I just need to tap the sign up there again. I am on board with every character and every ship that spoke to you.

Der Himmel über Berlin | Wings of Desire (1987) [SAFETY]

Okay. I absolutely acknowledge that this is not a movie for everyone. You probably can not watch this movie when you are feeling jilted, or cynical.
You have to be willing to go on a ride with this movie and be open to where it leads you.
And if you do that, this movie will have so much for you to offer. You get rewarded with so much beauty.

Just a movie about what it means to be human, you know? In the right place, at the right time.

I absolutely adore it. Just look at it? So gorgeous (Especially if you can get the 4k restoration), incredibly camera work. If you want to do nothing else but put some of those scenes to some fitting music, all the power to you, I will be so happy with that.

But if you have something more specific in mind for any or all of these characters, I promise I will not be jilted or cynical; you lead and I will follow.

LAZARUS ラザロ | Lazarus (Anime)

Haha I love nominating things that I haven't finished watching yet! What could possibly go wrong! So spicy!

Anyway, I'm halfway through and I will definitely have finished it in time for go-live. What I love most about this show is the action and movement, it looks so cool! If you want to make a shiny AMV-style action thing, I support you in this endeavour. I also really love the characters, their designs are great. And to leave this shallow level for a bit:

I love that all of them are there against their will, but what is free will if you have a month until everyone dies? And some cope better with that than others. I'll leave it up to you to decide what good coping looks like in this situation...
They haven't really gotten there yet by the point I'm at, but I think this has great found family potential. If this meshes with how the rest of the show pans out, I would love an ensemble/found family vid. But of course if you have a great character study in mind, that is completely fine. I really like all characters, feel free to make one about any of them. I also love the story, so you could also do something focused on that.
And there's not enough footage to do anything with it, but I do need to give a shout-out to the hilarious cat content. Cat vs house, house wins every time, cat incredibly unbothered.

밤에 피는 꽃 | Knight Flower (TV)

Okay, here's the thing. Loved this show. Loved these characters. It was funny, touching, exciting, etc and the performances were all-around great. I just did not expect to fall in love with that one soft bean pole Park Yoon Hak, and yet somehow I did. So if that is at all in your wheel house, I would love to receive a vid about him. Softest, cutest, tallest boy. 💛
But I don't want to box you in. I did genuinely love all the characters and all the pairings. So you can of course also focus on any other character, any other pairing, or go big ensemble. I will be overjoyed.

Set a few years after WWII, some random Danish dude is made governor of an empty island in the South Atlantic, because he really, very strongly, wanted to be left alone, so why not just send him there to be alone.
He's not all alone, he's sharing his island with some penguins. So he gives them names and gets enthralled in their relationship drama.

Along comes a British governor – who has the actual job description of being a governor, not of being a guy who wants to be left alone so they made him governor of an empty island – and insists the island is not actually a Danish island, it is in fact a British island.
Cue intense, funny arguing over an island. Cue a surprising amount of feelings. Cue you also ending up invested in the relationship drama of those penguins. Which is all just a metaphor for the relationship drama of the humans.

What we can't forget in all of this, is that this is a radio play. So I'm not entirely sure how one would vid this. But it has penguins, so that's something to go with, I guess?
