Blackletter was raised in the wilds of the desert far from human civilization. This contributed to a shy, emotionally repressed, and socially inept personality. He earned a PhD in Classics in 2014, which did nothing to aid in learning normal social skills. He now works as a civil servant in a job that has nothing to do with classics at all.
Blackletter is trangender/genderqueer, asexual, and an INTJ or INTP according to the Myer-Briggs personality types. He is a quiet but avid participant in the fandom culture and has been involved in fandom since 2000. His fic journal is here.
