Thursday Trophy Tally

Two shrews, one vole and one tail of an undentified rodent so far this week. Äiti does not appreciate her presents - I will keep going until she does.

 

Monday Mancat

 Moi !  I am not in Äiti's good books. I do not understand why; she loves stinky birds, and so do I.  I just so happen to hunt them. And it being summer, there are plenty of young ones about, and they have to learn that the Catio is not for them. Those that are foolish enough to fly in, and slow enough ot to escape - well, it's survival of the fittest, isn't it ?

And yes, half a tailio was all that Äiti found.

Smug Sunday

There has been carnage on the Catio recently. Jaava caused much grief to two stinky birdies -and Äiti who had to do the humane thing. Pekka, however, was clean with his capture of a squirrel. Much jollity was had with it and he was pleased.

The next dayÄiti came home to find blood, fur and half a skull in the house. Cat's honour prevents the identity of the killer from being released, but Pekka is suspected as he is a super-stealth squirrel assassin.   There are still more of them in the garden but Äiti hopes that no more will be deliever into the Castle.

Friday Furball

Now this post comes with a warning - do not scroll down to the second photo if you have just had breakfast, are of a sensitivie disposition, or are just a wimp.  Here is Pekka, being all sweet and sleepy. This is a protective photo so the gross one doesn't appear at the top of your feed.

And this is the furball. it has bits of soil on it as it was yakked up outside.  It is BLACK. None of us is black (well, Seppo maybe).This was the second black furball in a month.  But this time, Äiti saw it being produced. By Pekka.  The fur is from MOUSIES!

Monday Mancat

Meanwhile, at -10'C on the Catio, some kitty caught a shrew. This was either Mirsku or Pekka as they are the ones who go out on Mousewatch. The prize remains on the Catio, frozen, as atrophy to play with.

 Just so.

Horticultural Thursday

 We do as much as we can to keep the Catio in shape. Seppo is our resident transporter of kissanminttu.  For some reason he delights in taking sprigs of it in his mouth and carrying them off.

Jaava enjoys keeping the grass in trim while flossing her fangs.

And Ruska is busy digesting the mice he has caught in the long grass.  So far this week the tally Äiti has found: half a mouse, two shrews and a vole.
