FYI. Somebody was posting non-Clexmas stuff to the AO3 archive so I just went in and cleared out the moderated files and then changed the settings. As an inadvertent result, everybody who had stories or gifts in the whole thing just got a new notice about pretty much everything. Argh. I’d forgotten AO3 had those “all or nothing” settings like that.

Most of you already knew about your fics and they were all revealed already (except for the one legitimate one in moderation, oops... sorry).

Hopefully it was just a nice reminder and a good reread of some old happy memories. :)

Sorry about last year. I really did get sick for literally all of December, and a good chunk of January too. I kept thinking I was better and would go into work and people would say "why are you not home!?" and I'd be all, "But I'm better than I was last week!" (and plus had used up all my sick time). It wasn't even that serious of a thing, compared to some others. Just a really frickin' miserable cold that would not go away.

So... rather obviously, no brand new Clexmas this year - not with last year outstanding! But I do still have all the things everybody turned in for last Clexmas, and I'm planning on posting them this year. One year delay, but hopefully better than nothing!

If folks do want... I'm thinking of maybe making an AO3 Clexmas that would have the benefit of me setting it up... and then it having automatic posting and reveal dates. Once it was up and running, it wouldn't rely on me coming in every day to post stuff. Would you all want that? At the least?

Sorry for the lack of postings on Clexmas. Apparently December was just a miserable month for a lot of folks down with colds, including your sorry mod. As a result, we kept giving everybody who emailed lots of extensions (because who can create when they're sneezing their head off?) and stocking stuffers were a no-go this year.

However, we *do* still have gifts and Clexmas for the year! Just a tad later than usual. (We've been moving later and later as the years go on... hummm...). So dust off that Clexy goodness and prepare for some treats. :)

New due dates for all remaining gifts are January 31 in general, and for those still down with bronchitis (or worse), we can work on something reasonable that won't make you work through the sick.

If you're still working on the gift, or have submitted already by email, FYI our AO3 collection has been prepped for this year and new works added will be anonymous and unrevealed until the mod reveals them. So you can submit your new gift works to the collection at any time, and I'll add the links to the posting here on LJ/DW/tumblr.

Gifts can be emailed to clexmas@gmail.com - I promise I'm still checking it! I'll also be sending an email around about all this to everybody who signed up, just to make sure everybody gets the notice.

Due to the delay in the Holiday Exchange, there won't be a True Love Fest this year (your mod can't deal with both of them at the same time). We'll try and have something for a Spring Fest instead. (If everybody is well by then!)

We are back for another year of wonderful Clexmas Holiday Gifts. :)

A wee bit early this time too, and we missed Halloween - sorry, life's been in the way of fandom this year. But can't miss the exchange!

Winter returns, and it’s time again to stoke the Clex fires with the sheer hotness of our ship. Sweet and early pre-slash, domestic and homey, far flung AUs, late season fix-it fics-- Let our fannish verve keep us toasty warm. This is for the boys, after all!

By the nature of the challenge, the gifts will be wide-ranging and exciting and you won't know what you get until you get it! You might get fic, you might get a vid; it might be a graphic. Open your present during the Holidays and see what you have. :)

SIGN UPS ARE EARLY THIS YEAR! Sorry about that - I'm going to be not available during the timeframe we normally do sign-ups, and I want to make sure this gets out and done before that. At least you'll have an extra long time to do the gifts? :)
December 20 - January 16: Email Completed Gifts to clexmas@gmail.com (per picked dates)
December 24 - January 20: Gifts will be posted on the Clexmas Site (anonymously!)
January 21: Reveal of Gifts! {request for pitch-hitters if needed}

Because of the occasional posting issues with many of them coming in at the last minute, we're going to go for due dates again (it seemed to work okay last year). Nothing make or break, and there will be flexibility in the schedule, but if you could sign up for a three-day range in which you'll be turning your gift in, it'll help us in the posting. No worries if you can't get it exactly then, just let us know.

We already had a Clexmas account in DW, but hadn't done cross-posting. So I'm in the middle right now of importing the whole community over so we'll at least have back-up and historical info of the site.

So on Tumblr, Noxelementalist asked if anybody had a list or gifset of all the things Clark has read on the show. I didn't know, but I thought you all might. :)

I remember the "Men are From Mars, Women are from Venus" one, and Lex twitting him about "To Kill a Mockingbird", but I don't remember any of the others.

Anybody have any input?


Oh, and in other random Clexmas bits... I was trying to figure a way to make Saint Pattie's Day into a Clexmas challenge - all green, all the time? Kryptonite specials? ;D Green-themed art? But it wasn't quite Clexy enough. I figure what we might do next instead for spring is maybe a basic friending meme, because there aren't enough us anymore and we're scattered around everywhere nowadays.

And... does anybody want to volunteer for a pitch-hit for Clexmas? :( I've given up on the lone last person promising to get their holiday present in. :( Too many delays. Next year, if the presents aren't in on time, I'm giving up much sooner. It just ruins the whole thing for people to wait and wait and wait and not get their presents when they've put all the work in for somebody else.
