PRAB promotes testing programs for scrap processing, fluid recycling decisions
PRAB Inc., Kalamazoo, Michigan, says materials and fluids testing can help metalworking operations evaluate metal scrap processing and fluid recycling equipment before making capital equipment investments. According to the company, testing metal chips, turnings, swarf, coolants and process fluids under application-specific conditions can provide empirical data to guide equipment selection, scrap value improvement, volume-handling capacity and projected return on investment.

The GPT gearhead family from Faulhaber can be flexibly combined with various motors from the standard range, such as motors from the flat BXT brushless family or the brushless DC drives from the microdrive experts. During development, they were specifically designed to work with the DC drives of the GXR/SXR gearhead family, which allows for perfectly matched combinations of encoders, drives and gearheads.

Doosan Robotics new AI-powered palletizing solution, PalletizHD+, brings the robot, AI, and application controls together in one integrated environment to make palletizing faster, smarter, and easier for manufacturers to deploy and operate. The system, which debuted at Automate 2026, is built on PalletizOS, Doosan Robotics’ proprietary palletizing operating system and "removes the complexity traditionally associated with palletizing automation," according to the company.

US cutting tool shipments totaled $258.9m in April, up 21.1%
Shipments of cutting tools, measured by the Cutting Tool Market Report, a collaboration between AMT – The Association For Manufacturing Technology and the U.S. Cutting Tool Institute (USCTI), totaled $258.9 million in April 2026. The value of shipments decreased 0.1% from March 2026 but was up 21.1% from April 2025.

Collins Aerospace opens $69M expanded landing gear facility
Collins Aerospace, an RTX business, has opened its newly expanded, 22,000-square-meter manufacturing facility in Tajęcina, Poland. The $69 million expansion will support an increase in landing gear system production capacity by nearly 25% for both commercial and defense aircraft programs. The site will create approximately 190 new jobs this year.
