What I like about it: If you haven’t noticed by now, I’m really into fandoms that very few people are into—that’s far from the only reason I like this movie, though, but it is part of it. This, much like Short Term 12, feels real. There’s no antagonist or unpredictable plot twists or fast paced, well, anything. It’s just two people trying and failing and continuing to try to get their lives together.

• There was…I found this 4-star letterboxd review that said (and this is a direct quote) ‘this was great but for maximum relatability and community impact kristen should have been gay and depressed too.’ Now, I wouldn’t want Maggie to be a lesbian, exactly—I do believe she truly loved Lance, if only at the beginning of their relationship—but what if she was bi or pan or some other m-spec identity? I feel like she thinks herself to be the ‘better twin’ because she has a good job and a good house and a good husband while Milo’s a failed actor, so how does this affect her opinion of herself? Does it?
• Post-canon: what happens to Maggie and Milo after the former’s suicide attempt? Does Milo continue to stay with her? That has to be super uncomfortable for Lance. (Although perhaps not, because his relationship with Maggie is probably over.)
• What was Maggie’s pre-canon relationship with Carlie, the girl she meets up with at the cafe/diner/I honestly don’t know what it was because I wasn’t paying much attention? She doesn’t seem to appreciate seeing her; what’s up with that?
• Maggie and Milo’s relationship pre-canon. Was it Milo’s relationship with Rich that caused their 10-year estrangement, or was it something else?
• What if they switched positions? What if Milo had the so-called perfect life, job, and husband whom-he’s-secretly-cheating-on (because he’s obviously still gay), and Maggie was the struggling actress who had a relationship with a teacher in high school and who’s suicide attempt sets up the beginning of the movie? How does that change things?

What I like about it: It’s a medical drama that doesn’t focus solely on the doctors. And that the patients are children. And that no one in the Red Band Society ended up with each other at the end (despite the Leo/Kara hookup and the whole Leo/Emma & Emma/Jordi love triangle.) And that there’s enough content for gen, het, slash, femslash, and poly writers. (I know there is in almost every show but this…this doesn’t feel forced, you know?)

Prompts:
• Emma/Kara: did they know each other before they met in the hospital? Neither of them was super friendly or welcoming to each other, so it could definitely be possible. There’s a mutual disliking there that slowly warms up over the course of the series (and it only makes sense that it’s after Emma ends back up in the hospital.) Pre-canon where they were together (as a toxic relationship or not, but the former makes more sense for the show) before Emma develops an eating disorder, or during/post-canon when they form a relationship in the hospital. You can ignore Leo’s hookup with Kara if you want. (Background Jordi/Leo is fine.)
• Emma/Jordi/Leo: it’s obvious these three enjoy spending time with each other, so this really makes sense. Maybe when Emma is forced to choose between these two (which, really?) she sits them both down and explains polyamory (because, honestly, I doubt either of them know what it is) and they realize they can make it work somehow.
• Jordi/Leo; I mean, these two are literally roommates. They enjoy each other’s company, they spend a lot of time together, and Leo never seems too upset by Emma’s (or other’s) comments about him being gay/in love with Dash. I’m ignoring a lot of canon material to prompt this, but  if they were opposing soccer team rivals, only to meet up again in Ocean Park and reevaluate their relationship? (Background Emma/Kara is fine.)
• Emma/Dash/Jordi/Leo/Kara: I can imagine there being a lot of arguments for them to reach an OT5, but it’s not too impossible. Maybe one of them realizes they’re in love with the other four and deals with having to explain that? Preferably during canon because I want them to explain it to Charlie when he wakes up, haha. 
• For the solo requests: anything that takes place before or after canon in any of the character’s personal lives that maybe the others don’t know. Emma dealing with the fact that anorexia runs in her family (and the repairing of the relationship with her mother.) Jordi’s non-emancipation and what happens from there. Leo’s study and how that affects him. Dash’s relationship with Mae (or anything about his backstory; there’s not a ton of focus on Dash.) How Kara deals with having Hunter’s heart—in the penultimate episode, she has a monologue that could be implied to be suicidal behaviour, how far does she get with that after she wakes up?
• Also: lemonade mouth AU! there’s enough of them, and Charlie can be just like a side character or something. Finley’s (Emma’s sister’s) annoying best friend or something.

(Degrassi’s motto is literally ‘It goes there.’ so that’s…that.) It deals with topics and issues that most shows didn’t cover at the time. (Also, the fact that it’s set in Canada played a not-so-small factor in my enjoyment.)

Prompts: (Honestly, you could write me 10k of Ellie’s day-to-day life (with or without other people) and I would love it, but I’ve provided a few prompts anyway.)
• I’m really interested in the weeks between the beginning and end of 3x08: Whisper to a Scream (when Ellie cuts herself for weeks unnoticed until Paige finds out.) How did she keep it a secret for so long? She got the co-op position, how was she able to hide it from people there (especially when she interviewed a guy who literally helped teenagers with self-harm issues?)
• Craig & Ellie: I do believe it wasn’t a fair decision on the writer’s part to have Ellie to pine over Craig throughout the last few seasons she was on the show (5/6/7 I believe?) It’s not that I don’t like Crellie (I got a Crellie Empire Records AU last year that I enjoyed very much), but it just felt like Ellie was just…trying to impress Craig or something when that’s not her. So my prompt for them is really just: their friendship. Anything canon or not that brings them closer together without any expectation of becoming more. Have Craig find out about Ellie’s cutting if you want (hopefully not through the same way: in the girls’ washroom.)
• Sean & Ellie: I do love Sellie and Crellie the same amount, but I think it was a good thing they broke up after the shooting: romance, was (understandably) not Sean’s top priority at the time. However, I think it was unfair for them to never talk. She should have visited, written, called. The prompt here is for them to keep their relationship alive, even when it’s not romantic anymore.
• Ashley/Ellie: These two and their friendship! I loved how Ashley thought Ellie was cool right when they met, but then Ellie didn’t tell her about her self-harm or living situation and then Ashley left and their friendship died. Good thing there’s fanfiction! What if that didn’t happen? What if Ashley and Ellie were closer (enough to form a romantic relationship, hence the tag) and they had a best friend-to-lovers arc—whatever that would look like?
• Paige (&+/) Ellie: These two have literally kissed. That’s all your honour—no I’m kidding. There’s a few points in their relationship I could focus on, but I have two in mind: their rivalry turned friendship in 3x08, and their kiss in 7x22. They already become friends after the latter, and Paige has her sexuality crisis two years later, but what if Ellie has her own personal one then? She seems to be a loner thus far in high school (other than Marco) so maybe she mistakes her feelings for something else (which could go either way—romantic or platonic) In the latter, she kisses Paige to prove that ‘a kiss is just a kiss’ and not a big deal. Now, Paige and Alex are long broken up—what if it’s Ellie who has a realization?
• Paige/Alex/Ellie: Paige and Alex have both been friends with Ellie at various points. Ellie and Alex have both been rivals/enemies/shared a mutual dislike of Paige at various points. At what point does any of it evolve into romance? At what point did any of them decide ‘hey, we could add a third?’

Divergent (2014) [1: Christina, 1: Tobias Eaton, 1: Tris Prior, 1: Worldbuilding, Christina/Tobias Eaton/Tris Prior, Peter Hayes/Caleb Prior, Tobias Eaton/Tris Prior] / Divergent (Movies) [1: Lynn, 1: Marlene, 1: Uriah Pedrad, Lynn/Marlene/Uriah Pedrad]
What I like about it: I really like that being Divergent could be seen as a metaphor for being othered by society (because of race/gender/sexuality/disability/etc.) If you matched with me on worldbuilding, I’d love to see a take on that if you’re up to writing that in two weeks. I also really enjoyed all the characters and how they interacted; how Tris is only one of the new kids but the only one who’s been sheltered by her birth faction—in a way—that she gets to learn all these things about human interaction that she didn’t know was allowed. (I really do enjoy every character. Ships, I’m more picky with, but feel free to include anyone alongside the pairing(s) you’re writing.)

• Worldbuilding: I love the metaphor listened above, but also, how were the factions made? Who was in charge of them? What happens to them post-canon, where everything’s fallen apart?
• Christina: what was her life like in Candor? She mentions in Insurgent that she had to take truth serum, what was that for? Did she feel bad for leaving Candor behind? Why did she decide to forgive Tris so easily after her killing Will? (It just seems odd, okay?)
• Tris: what was her life like pre-Dauntless? How would her life have turned out if she chose a different faction, or became factionless? What would she be like if she was more selfish? She didn’t see herself being in Abnegation, so was that why? How does her not dying in Allegiant affect the rest of the (forever discontinued) plot?
• Christina/Tobias/Tris: feel free to have this be in a modern setting. Poly relationships like this may have been normal in Candor, but they were certainly not in Abnegation, so this would most likely feel awkward for Tobias and Tris, at least for the first part. What is this awkwardness and how do they navigate this?
• Peter/Caleb: these two interact very little in both variations of the series, book and film. Since it’s Tris’ story, all their interactions have been through her. When did they really meet, before Tris? How does their relationship work (since Peter is a manipulative person, and Caleb is a huge nerd who, in hindsight, is also a coward?)
• Tobias/Tris: honestly, just anything for these two. If Tris did die in the movies, would he still react the same way? Him and Christina aren’t that close, but would she still be there to stop him from taking the memory serum? If she lived, would she help rebuilt the faction system? Or, a world there they’re both faction leaders (or Dauntless, or maybe not.)
• Lynn: One of the last things she says is how she loved Marlene (like, in a gay way.) (In the books, anyway. She’s less important in the movie.) How did she realize this, and why didn’t she tell her, in a faction where bravery is honoured above all? Or, if not using book canon, where was she throughout the series?
• Marlene: Marlene is an unimportant character in Insurgent, unfortunately, just as a catalyst for Tris to hand herself into Erudite.
• Uriah: What’s Uriah’s home life like, either pre- or during canon? In the books, he has a mom, a brother (Zeke), and no dad that I can recall. Does his mom like Lynn and Marlene? What’s his relationship with Zeke like? He’s not in the movies, and there’s little focus on him in any of the books.
• Lynn/Marlene/Uriah: does them being in a relationship change their dynamic or anything else about them? Or, reverse their roles with Tris/Tobias/Christina (not for the whole series, obviously, but just for some of their scenes together?)

Also, her relationship with Jude is the most adorable thing.

 Dear FFFX Writer, I’m DauntlessShadowIce over on ao3; thank you for writing for me! I’m very easy to please, as long as you respect my character/pairing requests and DNWs, I’m sure I’ll enjoy your work. Ratings from General-Mature are great. I have some various likes over here (https://dauntlessshadowice.dreamwidth.org/4655.html), and I have some specific ones below.

Atypical (TV 2017)

(I put Atypical’s prompts in one paragraph compared to the others below, as it’s pretty much the same thing for each character.)

Atypical: 1. Pre-canon. 2. post-canon. 3. Anything involving Casey and/or Izzie’s running/track. 4. Pretty much anything regarding Evan. 5. Casey and Izzie’s relationship and how each of them sees it. 6. Paige’s past. 7. Sam in Antarctica.

ER (TV 1994)
Carol & Doug: 1. What if they were rivals at the beginning of the series? Or exes?

Carol/Doug: 1. What if they didn’t get together until the end of the series/post-canon? 

Carol Hathaway: 1. What if she didn’t realize her feelings for Doug until after she married Taglieri?

Doug Ross: 1. What if Doug tried to killed himself in the pilot, instead of Carol?

Girl Meets World
Lucas/Maya/Riley: 1. They find out about polyamory before high school. Or in their freshman year. Some point in canon, is what I’m trying to say, some point where the love triangle ends. 2. Post-canon. They find polyamory in high school or later, and both Riley and Maya realize their feelings for each other/girls in general. 3. I really like the established couple falls for a third and visa versa—and it could go for any pair: Maya/Riley, Lucas/Riley, Maya/Lucas.

Maya Hart: 1. Maya’s life pre-Riley and/or when she’s not with Riley. 2. Maya’s home life beyond what we’re showed/told.

Maya & Riley: 1. Unrequited love. It could go either way, honestly. I think Maya would be more angsty about it, and that Riley would handle it a lot better. 2. Childhood reunions. Like, the entire plot of Girl Meets World doesn’t happen; they’re just childhood friends who grow apart and reunite as teenagers/adults. 3. Pre-canon friendship.

Maya/Riley: 1. They’re not childhood friends to lovers. They meet in high school. 2. Lucas never shows up at their school or he doesn’t like girls or any excuse where they don’t have to fight over him and pine. 3. Codependency. Ooh, or maybe something traumatic happened to the two of them and they bond over it.

Riley Matthews: 1. Riley’s life when Maya isn’t with her. 2. Missing scenes in canon episodes or between episodes.

Red Band Society (US TV) (If we didn’t match on this and you want to watch it, or even if you just want to watch it, I’ve compiled a list of links to each episode: here)

Jordi/Leo: 1. What if they did have to amputate Jordi’s leg in episode two like they were originally supposed to? Then Leo would have been able to keep his promise about helping Jordi through it, and they would have grown closer as a result. It also would have avoided the whole Emma/Jordi/Leo triangle. 2. What if Leo turned to Jordi to comfort after Emma leaves in episode nine? 3. An alternate universe where they meet before their original meeting at Ocean Park. 4. Not a prompt so much as a thought: Leo and Jordi are literally roommates. At a hospital, sure, but part of the work is already done if you like roommates to lovers.

Emma/Kara: 1. What if Kara and Emma didn’t hate each other from the start? Sure, Emma was the only girl in the group, but there was no need to feel threatened (there might have been when Kara hooked up with Leo, but for the majority of the show, her focus was on Hunter.) And Kara had no right to give Emma tips on how to lose weight, like an enabler. 2. Kara’s views about her mom and her girlfriend getting in the way of her own relationships. My favourite headcanon is that Kara is a repressed bisexual (I went with repressed lesbian until the halfway point in the show, mostly because I choose to believe Kara really did love Hunter, and, well, I like Hunter) and she hates Emma because she thinks that she could fall in love with her and end up like her mom. 3. Emma chooses to dislike Kara because she doesn’t want to fall in love with her and end up disappointing one more person.

Roseanne
Becky Conner: 1. Becky’s relationship with Mark. I didn’t nominate Becky/Mark because I’m not interested in the relationship itself; I’m interested in Becky’s side of it. How they got together, their marriage, sure, but mostly the scenes we didn’t get to see.

Darlene Conner: 1. Darlene’s depression. It was brought up in season four for a few episodes, talked about a few times, and was the butt of many jokes, but they never really touched upon. I mean, I get it, it was the nineties, but they also made a reboot, and there were still jokes being made. The show gave different explanations as to why she was depressed, but didn’t really explain beyond that. 2. Darlene’s friendships. They mention one friend in the entire series (excluding Molly), and that was in one episode. I mean, she played sports, she must have had some friends from there. 3. Darlene herself. In later seasons, she went from being witty and sarcastic to being cold and just a straight up jerk, and I’m sure that was likely a result of poor character development on the writer’s part, but they never give an in-universe reason for it. Plus she goes from feeling bad about how she treated David, but as soon as they get back together, she goes right back to treating him like a doormat.

Darlene Conner/Molly Tilden: 1. Any different first meeting that would fit within the canon setting (not necessarily the canon timeline, but I’d like it to be inside/around/near Lanford. 2. Missing scenes in canon episodes where they could’ve gotten together (and then diverged from there.) I’ve written a few of these, but I always enjoy seeing how other people would write them. 3. Childhood neighbours/friends to lovers. This one needs a spot because I love the idea so much.

David Healy: 1. Anything that happened up until he met Darlene.

Molly Tilden: 1. Very little is revealed about Molly Tilden (or her family in general) during their brief time on the show. Anything pre-canon, with her and her family, before they moved to Lanford. 2. Post-canon. Where did they go after Lanford? Or maybe canon divergence where they don’t leave Lanford and settle down. 3. Character and/or relationship study. Why does she make the choices she made? Why did she flirt with David? Was she insecure or did she actually like him? Or did she actually like Darlene but didn’t know how to tell her?

—Shelved is a Canadian sitcom about librarians at a library in Toronto, by the way. It’s not a mockumentary, or anything fancy, but I like it. Even if you don’t know the show, you can always use it as a fusion.
-I haven’t seen Selfie yet, but I’ve heard it’s similar to Superstore, so you could do something involving the two of them?

I only have prompts for two of the fandoms I requested: Blossom and Roseanne. If we matched on something else, or you’ve decided to write a different fandom, I don’t have prompts for the other six. Feel free to write what you wish.

Blossom
Six LeMeure & Blossom Russo / Six LeMeure/Blossom Russo—I really like the dynamics between these two, and especially how they both have wild, unrealistic fantasies and have the other one bring them back to reality. I’d really enjoy pre-canon for this fandom, either where they meet or where one of them realizes they have a crush on the other.

Roseanne

Becky Conner & Dan Conner & Darlene Conner & D.J. Conner   /   Becky Conner & Darlene Conner & D.J. Conner & Roseanne Conner—I put these two together because I have one prompt for both: schemes and pranks and the like. Sure, the Conner family goes all out for Halloween, but what about April Fool’s Day? What do they do for that?

Becky Conner & Darlene Conner & D.J. Conner—The same as above, but also: misunderstandings surrounding their parents or other family members.

Becky Conner/Mark Healy—You can totally go AU with this. I love seeing how many ways people can write these two. Canon divergence or otherwise.

Dan Conner & Darlene Conner—These two have a very nice father-daughter relationship, and I just want to see more of that. Especially in season four.

Dan Conner/Roseanne Conner—I’d want to read a story about how they met or how their relationship developed from meeting up until the series started.

Darlene Conner & David Healy / Darlene Conner/David Healy—You know, something that would have been nice to see would be Darlene redeeming herself and being a better girlfriend. Or, if not, then mutually breaking up and continuing to be friends.

Darlene Conner & Molly Tilden / Darlene Conner/Molly Tilden—I always wonder what would have happened if Molly had been introduced earlier than season five, and how that would have affected Darlene. Or if Molly hadn’t moved away. Or if Molly and Darlene hit it off right away.

Darlene Conner & Roseanne Conner—Darlene should have had more mother-daughter conversations. That’s both a statement and a prompt.

Darlene Conner/David Healy/Molly Tilden—While I don’t think Molly was interested in David while she was on the show, I do believe she was interested in Darlene. Which means this could either be a relationship where Darlene’s dating both David and Molly, or David and Molly agree to date for some reason.

David Healy & Mark Healy—I’m thinking maybe something pre-canon, or something that takes place just before David’s first appearance.

Solo: Charlotte Tilden—Charlotte is someone who’s ignored or overlooked by Molly lots of the time. I’d like to see how she reacts to that.

Solo: Darlene Conner—Something that probably seems super obvious is that Darlene Conner is my favourite character in the show. (Also a top contender for all-time favourite, but that’s beside the point.) I would read anything you write for her. Feel free to include any of the relationships including her with this one. Character study? Angst? Trying to figure out her complicated feelings for Molly? Anything.

Solo: Molly Tilden—There is so much about Molly I’d like to see. Pre-canon, post-canon, how she feels about Darlene (platonically or romantically.)

Solo: Worldbuilding—I pretty much only nominated this for missing scenes that could have been shown but weren’t, and let me tell you, there are a lot. I know it’s like that for many sitcoms, but this is a sitcom I’m very invested in, which, of course, means I have a few prompts.
—Darlene’s high school experience. I mean, I get that the focus is Roseanne, but they didn’t even mention anything about it except bringing Molly in (and Marcy, who was mentioned in a singular episode and never really appeared.)
—Darlene’s depression. There was a whole episode about it, and it was mentioned starting at season four and throughout the series, but it never actually touched on how it affected her social life and her relationships with her friends.
—Becky’s high school experience. Becky would have been in high school when the series started, but a good chunk of it was never shown.
—The Tilden family. More specifically, where did they come from and where did they go. (That was not intentional.) If I recall, the reason why the Tilden family moved to Lanford wasn’t given (if it was and I just don’t remember, ignore me.) And then they just left without an explanation.
