Hello, I am an Aussie mother, wife, sister and friend.  I started 2012 losing weight with WeightWatchers.  I reached my goal, however, I decided to be healthier.  I was blown away by the inspirational Fat Sick and Nearly Dead and the Reboot your life fasts.  So I have decided to join them and completed a 3 day fast.  This blog recorded my 3 days and has evolved into other musings about the things that are important to me, cooking, reading, travelling, family, participating in Daily Prompts, photo challenges … random thoughts.   7. Thank you for the follow on my blog, Snide Reply. I love visiting blogs of people from the southern hemisphere. I live in Chicago and today it is 16 degrees F (I have no idea what that is in centigrade; I’m a typical American in that regard) and snowing. My daughter actually said, “Oh, hello sun!” when the sun came out for a brief visit this morning.

    • We were 45.6 C the other day, which is 113.9 F that is the only conversion I know! I followed your link to your newspaper column, as a mother in the similar position as you, I loved your post about adoption. D 34

  8. Thanks! We adopted nine years ago and it is the best thing we’ve done, up there with having our son. I’ve actually written about adoption three times. I think all three are available on the blog. I’m going to nose around yours.
