Why the hell did I get a sudden craving at midnight for orange jello with shredded carrots & pineapple in it? Jello with fruit was frequently on the table when I was a kid, and that was a fave combo, but I've not had it for many many years. I likely won't bother to acquire the ingredients and make it, but I really wonder just why it popped into my head like that.

Today, in 1969, Apollo 11 astronauts Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin landed on the moon. Do you remember the name of the astronaut in the command module?
not off the top of my head, though I'd likely recognize it if I saw it written. I watched the moon landing as a kid - warm summer evening, B/W TV in the basement - it was a damn huge event!

Every so often I watch the video of Ken Casey (Dropkick Murphys) recording Who’ll Stand With Us in KYIV in Ukrainian (even though I don't understand it, there are subtitles) with O’Hamsters. There's some studio footage, but it's mostly footage of troops entertaining themselves with Stupid Soldier Games at the front. I always enjoy seeing the pet cats & dogs (especially the German Shepard in a harness, being used as a weight for lifting.

I must be old or something. I keep seeing fic writers mention Noah Kahan's songs in author notes, but I've never heard of him. Apparently he's made an impression on some folks?

Not being a writer, I've no idea how useful some of these might be, but overall the suggestions seem fairly balanced. If I knew then what I know now…. lessons learned by experienced authors.

“It was never considered to be rock art after 1928, and also it could never be dated, because in those days they didn’t have the scientific means that we have today,” lead author George Nash, an archaeologist associated with the University of Coimbra and the University of Liverpool, says to the Guardian’s Dalya Alberge. “We’ve used uranium-thorium dating for the pigments. We’ve got data 17,100 years before present, which makes it the oldest rock art in the British Isles.”
