Dreamwidth or Livejournal?
Oct. 3rd, 2017 02:29 amHi everyone,
in the light of the new developments on livejournal.com, what with new Terms of Service and all, I have decided to make a back-up of our kink meme on Dreamwidth.
Now, it seems some of the writers here have left Livejournal and I don't know if they ever check back here, but I want to offer everyone to move to Dreamwidth entirely, if that is what you would prefer.
You can find the back-up here: https://dn-kink.dreamwidth.org/
Please let me know what you think!
Cheers!
Kirandor
EDIT: Also, the reCAPTCHA is annoying as fuck...
If you are looking for the request post to make a new request, it is at this link. It was pushed to page 2 due to this announcement.

Lack of Updates
Dec. 13th, 2015 04:56 pmI have been gone from this community for nearly a year. I did disappear without any explanation, and without handing the power to run this community over to anyone else. I see the comments are still continuing to accrue, so the meme is technically still running, but without anyone to update the indexes of fills and requests, it must have been frustrating for readers and writers.
I do not have an adequate excuse for what I did. It was unfair to members of this community to not even have an explanation for so long.
The short explanation is that I have had very little access to the Internet for about a year, and I've been choosing to use my limited Internet time for what I considered to be my highest priorities. Because of my declining interest in the Death Note fandom that started maybe two or three years ago, this meme was not one of those high priorities. I kept telling myself things like, "Oh, I'll update the meme in a couple of weeks" or "Maybe next month I'll be able to get back on track with the meme" but I now realize that these thoughts were deluded. I am still interested in participating in the Death Note fandom, but I simply don't have the combination of high motivation and adequate time that would allow me to continue to manage this community.
The long explanation is a lot more complicated than the short explanation, and involves a bunch of personal matters that I would rather keep private, so I'll omit the long explanation.
I have decided to stop deluding myself and hand over the reins to someone else. Right now, I'm in the process of that transition. Hopefully, in a short while you will have a shiny new mod (or, who knows, maybe a couple of shiny new co-mods) and the process of indexing this latest year's mass of comments into a more navigable form can begin.
Thank you for a wonderful experience with this community. I do hope to still be involved in the Death Note fandom in some ways, such as eventually completing my unfinished fics, but running a kink meme is simply more than I can do at this time.

Schedule Change
Mar. 11th, 2014 07:44 pmActivity on the meme has slowed down enough in recent months that a weekly update of the indexes on every Tuesday is no longer justified.
The updating schedule is being changed to roughly every two weeks, on the first Tuesday and third Tuesday of each month.
Of course, you don't have to wait for the indexes to be updated if you don't want to. You can always see the latest fills, requests and comments by subscribing to updates in your email or LJ inbox, or by using flat view.
If activity picks up again, we might switch back to weekly updates.
