Greetings, Edinburgh people! It's been a little quiet around here lately. I hope you're all still here. Those of you missing the hustle-bustle of the LJ comm should know that you can read it on Dreamwidth (public posts only) from the DW RSS feed at [syndicated profile] edinburgers_lj_feed.

Meantime, I gots a question. Does anyone know of a food bank in Edinburgh that's not run by a church?

Does anyone know where to get Mike and Ike's jellybeans in town these days?
All my usual newsagents and Peckhams in Bruntsfield appear to have been out of stock for the last couple of weeks.

Also, anyone know of any vegetarian marshmallows and where to get them? Nisha's brand used to be veggie, but don't seem to be anymore.

Does anyone know if it's possible to pay a statutory notice for communal repairs in installments?
If so, who to contact about it?

Hello all! I'm asking about the blue baguette shop that used to be on Clerk Street, near the Blockbuster video. I don't remember their shop name and I would like to know if they've moved or if they closed down?

Cheers!

There's a map of Edinburgh's charity shops which have a range of cards and gifts at
http://www.changeworks.org.uk/content.php?linkid=347

The One World Shop and the bookshop near it are below the church at the corner of Princes St and Lothian Rd.

The Refugee Center at St George's on Shandwick Pl has a fair trade shop including Xmas gifts made from olive wood in Bethlehem.

Anyone got any other good sources for an ethical Xmas?

Younger Daughter has outgrown her bike and got a new one.
She's about 5'2" tall.
Anybody got a child shorter than that who would appreciate a second hand bike?

Does anybody know where in the Bruntsfield area would sell superglue these days?
We used to get it from Woolworths...

My kitchen ceiling is not in a good way following upstairs having a flood ages back.
Can anyone recommend a plasterer who will
a) turn up and do a quote when they say they will
b) do a decent job (including turning up when they say they will)

Thanks.

Anybody got an good sites for links to what's on in Edinburgh.

So far I've found http://scotland-travel.suite101.com/article.cfm/edinburgh which looks vaguely promising.

Not sure about Gumtree http://edinburgh.gumtree.com/ - is it useful?
