I am behind, of course - classes started this week and I was nowhere near ready, so I had to give it all to the employment.
Day 8's challenge: Share a favorite piece of original canon.
I will also be honest in that I've been thinking about this one (insofar as I have had time). I've gone down the Mag 7 road so many times on my favorite canon that thinking about it actually made me yawn (though that could also have been the late night and mental exhaustion as well!).
So I spent a little time thinking about other things that I love - or actually, just scenes that have inspired me or made me feel all 'warm and fuzzy'. Interestingly, and perhaps because I hated it at first but it's come to grow on me a lot, it's from MCU. Its the scene from "Avengers: Age of Ultron" where, on the run and in need of a place to hide, Clint takes them to his big secret: his home. There is something so wonderful about Laura and Natasha together, about Clint and his kids - and the looks on everyone else's faces, especially Steve and Tony. And Tony is just wonderful.
I hated this at first - hated it intensely as it is not comic canon *at all*, it messed with my Clint-slash in ways that really annoy me (um, until I found a way around it) and it just seemed so *not* Marvel.
But the more I thought about it, the more I have come to love it as a world to play with. I love the idea of the hideaway that Nick Fury protects - but also, as we know, uses (I have this whole idea in my head of him recovering there, hidden in an attic room that only Laura and Clint know about . . ) I love the idea that the others now view Clint as a real superhero - someone who has done what they all want to do.
And I love the idea that it puts them in practical contact with what they are protecting - love, families, true *known* innocents.
So this is my canon moment that is made all the more interesting to me because I have changed by mind completely about it.
