Candy Hearts Exchange Letter
Jan. 3rd, 2026 04:13 pmHello, thanks for checking out my letter! I've tried to list out extra likes here that would have taken up too much space on the main signup and added some other extra context.

Gen to explicit. I am over 18.
DNWs
❌ Underage of any kind - if you're writing romantic or sexual relationships I want all characters to be adults, i.e. 18 or older only.
❌ Described onscreen rape or sexual assault. Fic that contains it as a past event, or has it as an implied, referenced, or fade to black event or plot point is fine.
❌ Setting change AUs like coffee shop, fantasy, high school, sentinel/guide, tattoo parlour etc.
❌ PWP, kink, BDSM, or smut as the focus.
❌ Omegaverse | genderswaps | pregnancy & child rearing | woobification of characters
General likes
⭐ Timeline AUs e.g. fixit-fic | time loops | alternate endings | what if fic (e.g. x character died instead/x character lived instead) | future fic | what if we stopped the plot here and the rest of canon didn't happen | what if we saved the world instead | villain joins the hero's side | hero joins the villain's side | complete faction swap (good guys are bad, bad guys are good) | post-canon what the heroes did after.
⭐ Hurt/comfort | world building | exploration of character motivations | slice of life | portal fic | festivals | cottagecore | found family
⭐ Ghosts | monsters | monster hunting | caring for your monster | broken characters | haunted houses | eldritch horror | angels (biblically accurate or otherwise | demons | cosmic horror
⭐ Characters being imperfect, i.e. being allowed to mess up relationships, do it wrong, not be perfect partners or people.
⭐ Bittersweet | chilling | spooky | cozy vibes
⭐Angst | drama | mystery | action | casefic

- The Culture
(d)ROU Xenophobe & Its Crew (The Culture)
GOU Falling Outside the Normal Moral Constraints & Lededje Y'breq (The Culture)
Original Culture Mind(s) & Original Human Character(s) (The Culture)
The things that interest me the most about Banks' books are the Minds, and how they relate to the human characters that coexist with them. How an Abominator treats a human vs how a Hub Mind does, whether or not they like humans or simply "like" them because that's the right thing/Culture accepted to do. For example I think it's accurate to say that FOTNMC not only finds Lededje interesting, but also likes her in its own way. On the other hand, is lavishing attention on the little killer human all part of the "nasty Abominator" act, or is the attention he shows her more akin to something like friendship? How do they all justify their vastly superior intellects and capabilities when it comes to interacting with humans? Is there actually some kind of threshold where you can just talk about fundamental things and it doesn't matter how clever you are or aren't? Are some of them keeping their crew more as pets than anything else?
With that in mind I'd love anything to do with how the Xenophobe treats and plays with its crew, and the things they get up to. How any Mind interacts with any human or humans, or an off the books adventure that Led and Demeisen/FOTNMC go off on.
- Arcane: League of Legends (Cartoon 2021)
Jayce/Viktor (Arcane)
I love these two, any timeline, any genre. I'm a particular fan of timeloop stories, post-canon adventures trying to stitch the timelines back together, alternate universes where one or the other gets city-swapped, or where we see how it played out in all the different timelines where Mage!Viktor says he failed (although what is failure?). Whatever it is I want to see them together, seeking out funding, creating tech for the people, slice of lifing their way through the Academy and the timeskip that happens in S1, or wandering the world on the other side of the ending of S2. I'm happy for angst, drama, ptsd, guilt, redemption, bodyhorror, loving each other no matter what, quiet domesticity, all of it.
(Just as an aside, please do heed my last DNW for this one, I'm not a fan of the four kids future, although I do like cottagecore. :])
- The Magnus Archives
Elias Bouchard | Jonah Magnus/Jonathan "Jon" Sims | The Archivist (Magnus Archives)
Simon Fairchild/The Vast (The Magnus Archives)
I love the idea of Jon briefly coming under Elias' power and working with him to expand his powers as an Archivist.
Or Simon and The Vast, and all the ways that is both terrifying and alien. I'm fascinated and had never considered this as a pairing before!
- Warhammer 40.000
The Emperor & His Custodes (Warhammer 40K)
The Emperor & The Primarchs (Warhammer 40K)
Jago Sevatarion & Sigismund (Warhammer 40K)
Konrad Curze & Jago Sevatarion (Warhammer 40k)
Merek Grimaldus & His Reclusiam Command Squad (Warhammer 40K)
Generally speaking I just love Space Marines being Space Mariney at each other, like us but also existing within a completely different definition of normal that shows up only when you contrast it with what's expected. I really wanted more stories about Grimaldus and the squad he takes down to Helsreach, those bits of the book where they all interact with each other were some of the best to me. How he keeps such strong and aggressive personalities in line, and how and why they respect him so much.
Similarly I find the Custodes loyalty to the Emperor both fascinating and terrifying, particularly as it's portrayed in Master of Mankind. Some quiet downtime moments between Him and his Custodes would be fascinating.
Jago baiting Sigismund, winding him up and maybe, just maybe, being proved right. Or perhaps the other way around?
Why is Jago so loyal to Curze? What is it that Curze sees in him? Does Jago just serve the best tea while they wait at some tedious function, or are his cutting remarks just that endearing to his primarch?
I love all these characters dearly, together and apart, and would be extremely excited to get any snippets at all about them!
- Supernatural
Gabriel/Sam Winchester (Supernatural)
Castiel & Gabriel (Supernatural)
Michael & Adam Milligan
Michael & Raphael (Supernatural)
Michael/Adam Milligan
I always loved the angels best, even when they were being the worst villains, and I love angel/human or angel & human, particularly when it focuses on how unexpectedly different and plain weird angels can be. Also, how scary too. Angels as fundamentally weird, angels as great until you trigger them, angel trueforms, angels just being a little bit too much sometimes.
How the angels interact with each other also interests me, particularly Michael and his immediate brothers - the resentments and fondnesses that come with family, and how Castiel goes from little brother to 'was almost God at one point' and how that affects how Gabriel sees him.
For this one, particularly considering random AUs are practically Gabriel's entire personality, I am happy to waive the "No settings change" DNW.

Cid Highwind/Vincent Valentine (Comp FFVII)
Reno & Rude & Tseng (Comp FFVII)
Reno & Tseng (Comp FFVII)
Reno/Rude (Comp FFVII)
Sephiroth/Cloud Strife (Compilation of FFVII)
I pretty much started happy seal clapping when I saw all the possibilities that got nominated for this canon, though I've narrowed it down to the above. Probably worth saying I've seen/played/read all the canon games, stories, and movie associated with the compilation. The only thing I haven't gotten round to playing is the second of the remake games, although I see that's its own division, but please no spoilers for that as I know it's gone a bit AU off playing the first one alone.
Right!
I love the monster inside, be that a real demon or a demon created by a hard life, and how a good friend or partner can help keep it (mostly) in line. I love people I love Turks being cold, skilled, and professional assassins and bodyguards, while also being occasionally derpy. I love life in Midgar being gritty and corporate poisoned, and I love seeing people break free from it after the story is done but always being shaped by their past. I love a Sephiroth that comes back to sanity post-Jenova but who will always be the weapon he was made to be. I love doomed for each other saviour of the world and the guy who forced him into that position.
(One thing though - please absolutely no Crisis Core-era Cloud/Sephiroth.)
- Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
The Dovahkiin | Dragonborn & The Companions (Skyrim)
Male Dovahkiin | Dragonborn/Teldryn Sero (Skyrim)
Skyrim's my go-to game for when I just want to wander around claiming player homes and running from one side of a map to another, I just love it. I'm a big fan of the Dunmer, but I did start with Skyrim and that's where my heart will always lie for the ES. I love Teldryn and it was having him along for the ride that really got me looking up more about where he comes from - what a rabbit hole. I also end up joining the Companions every playthrough and helping them out.
I love Skyrim for the feel of the landscapes, the survival elements, the way the cultures interact and all the lore behind them. Big fan of snarky, cynical, observant and well-tested Teldryn, (I'm also open to the fanon idea of him being the Nerevarine or having a past in the Morag Tong - but if neither of those things appeal to you that's fine) and how he's slow to trust and scarygood to have as backup. The whole backplot of the Companions is fascinating to me, and the Dragonborn finding their place and their home amongst them, going out on jobs with them or them having their back is of interest.
As for the DB themselves, I'm happy for whatever. I tend to play male Nord or male Dunmer, but honestly any choice is good. Cis, trans, male, female, nonbinary, aro, ace, straight, gay - anything that you'd find interesting to write and which applies to the chosen relationship tag. Should point out too if you'd rather Male Dovahkiin | Dragonborn & Teldryn Sero than / I'm also down for that.
- Legacy of Kain
Raziel & his brothers
Janos Audron & Raziel
Janos Audron & Vorador
Janos Audron/Raziel
Janos Audron/Vorador
I'm a huge fan of all these characters and the various ways they can interact with each other. I'd love to see some scenes pre-SR1 with Raziel interacting with or visiting his brothers, they must have worked together at least a little before it all went south... Janos is such a fun character to contrast the rest of them against, and I love the way his perspective shifts your understanding of the whole franchise, particularly if you've been playing since the original Blood Omen 1 game. I'd love to see something between him and Raziel as either a wraith or a Sarafan or a pre-wings vampire (not keen on any wraith!Raziel/Janos physical interactions mind), and of course the tragedy of Vorador's loyalty and grief when it comes to his old master. How everything decays and falls apart, but the memories are still there.
- Mortal Kombat (Video Games 1992-2020)
Fujin & Raiden (MK VG)
Raiden & Earth's Champions (MK VG)
I love the gods in MK, Raiden in all his incarnations and how he has to chivvy, threaten, inspire, comfort and lead Earth's champions. It's quite a task even for a god, particularly one that's quite aggressive himself in some forms. I'd like to see any interactions between him and any of the champions that end up fighting for Earthrealm, whether those are pleasant or antagonistic.
The contrast between Fujin and Raiden really interests me, Fujin's more human from the get go, but Raiden's been doing this for longer. Did Raiden ever visit his brother in the Temple of Elements? Do they ever just...hang out? Are those hangouts ever Fujin trying to yet again convince Raiden of the value of being closer to humans?
- Spirit City: Lofi Sessions (Video Game)
Player Character & Spirits (Lofi Sessions)
I'd love a cozy slice of life that shows a nonbinary or female player character of any physical description living with, discovering or learning about the spirits that live in the world of Spirit City. I have this game running almost constantly in the background, and it's so gentle and cozy and safe.
