Protoplot: Second Creation Prowl

gatekatA character/cultural study more than a true plot at this point. The Prowl/Mirage relationship so briefly touched on in Hunters from the Light is the point of it.
Mirage is a First Creation in a powerful noble merchant House. That means he's the one in charge of any he's bonded too and is expected to inherit.
Prowl is created as his (most likely) second or even third bonded, though he could be first if Mirage has a noticeable deficit in something the logic/planning/memory-centric Prowl would compensate for. His function is to provide Mirage with an aid de camp type that Mirage can trust implicitly.
Given that, how'd they get to the more-or-less loving relationship they had in Hunters?
This will be a rare one: it was established in Hunters that Prowl still did not have a spike/valve towards the end of the war, and Mirage didn't get his until after he was well into his Ops career. So it'll never go above an R.
