A few announcements!

With Christmas looming we're running a couple of contests. Over on cpfanfic we're running the Christmas Challenge. Follow the link for details. Over on the Captain Planet Club on deviantArt we're running our annual Christmas Contest. There's even prizes up for grabs! Click here to find out all the info. 

I'm considering opening up a website dedicated to the Captain Planet fandom, most likely on WordPress, due to its customising capabilities, and broad access. It will feature posts much like you see here on geocruisin, though my intent is for it to be easier to navigate, share information and be broadly accessable for the general community. My vision is for the website to be similar in structure to many of the larger fandom sites, with dedicated pages for character profiles, episode discussions, news and follower posts. Before I move forward with this though, I want to gain a general idea of interest. Obviously customising and hosting a site requires time and money so I need to be able to justify this move. It would be great if you could please complete the poll to give me an idea of interest :)

As mentioned in my previous post, I'll be sharing the great fanart submitted for the Halloween Contest.

Third place went to our very own frankiealton! Hers was the dark horse of the contest, sneaking up to steal third place with last minute votes.

A couple of modly announcements:

If anyone has any requests for challenges, discussions or content they would like to see appear on geocruisin, please let me know and I'll do my best to make it happen. Of course, you're always free to start up discussion posts, rec your favourite fanart or fanfic, or even start up an RPG. Once things settle down with work and uni in a fortnight's time I'll get back to our character profiles and episode discussions.

The Halloween Contest we ran on the Captain Planet Club on dA has finished and we have our winners! I will be posting them here, along with the other art submissions for you all to enjoy. A huge thanks to everyone that submitted and voted.

Big announcement guys! It's Captain Planet day this Saturday 15th Sept - 22 years since it first aired! Damn I feel old. Anyway you can join Captain Planet Co-Creator Barbara Pyle and Exec. Producer Nick Boxer for a fan Q&A session where YOU ask the questions!!

This Saturday at 3PM Eastern on Reddit AMA - Reddit.com/r/iAMA. I did a quick time zone conversion for our Aussie fans and the event will be Sun 1am EST ;) 


What questions would you ask? I was very fortunate to have my two big questions answered by Barbara herself - Bleak's heritage and Wheeler's name - but now I don't know what else to ask! Perhaps how Dr Blight got her scar? Why was Bleak dumped in S6? Post your questions below! And if you are fortunate enough to hear an answer be sure to post that too!

Am I the only one that wishes this were made into an actual fan-film? This makes me itch to find out more. Wheeler slipping into apathy and alcoholism, what I can assume is his mother's failing health (do we assume Wheeler's dad died?). We get our much anticipated W/L kiss and zomg Plunder and Blight. You guys, this has to happen. Please please please make the feature film this full of win.
