Elegant Plaid Card Duo - Simon Says Stamp

 Good morning! I've got a pair of elegant cards to share today, using some supplies from Simon Says Stamp. I absolutely adore plaid, and gold, and simple floral silhouettes...not to mention layered cards!

For these cards, I started off with some Memory Box 6x6 Nutmeg pattern papers that had some gold foiling on them. I then cut a layer of white cardstock using Chunky A2 Scalloped Rectangles dies, then trimmed some Cream cardstock to fit inside the scallops and leave a nice border around. On that panel, I stamped some intricate florals from Vintage Garden stamp set using Nocturne black ink, which is amazing for a nice, crisp, detailed image like this! I added dainty sentiments from Sketched Flowers stamp set, and used my Tim Holtz distresser tool to add a bit of texture around those pieces. Then I layered them on the white scallop pieces with Big Momma foam tape roll - I love that it is thinner, so I could use it on two layers, and not end up with an overly thick card. I wrapped some May Arts Gold Metallic string around those panels and tied in a bow, then mounted those panels on my plaid bases. Finished off with a few Dazzling Gems in gold on the flower centers for a touch of extra sparkle! Here are more photos of these cards:

Layered Pattern Paper Cards - Simon Says Stamp November 2020 Card Kit

Good morning! I'm a bit slow sharing my first cards with the BRAND NEW November Simon Says Stamp Card Kit - Big Thanks Autumn! This kit is full of beautiful autumn themes and perfect for saying thanks so many ways! The included stamp set by the same name has beautiful fall floral images and sentiments, there is some GORGEOUS pattern paper,  acetate toner sheets and foil, preprinted sentiments, sequins - not to mention the cardstock, envelopes, and more!

I have two cards to share with you today - mainly featuring some of that gorgeous pattern paper for two different styles of layered cards - one more rustic with distressed paper edges, and one with crisper clean edges and layers.

First up, the more rustic and vintage style one. I fussy cut out that gorgeous floral spray, and trimmed out some elements from the pattern paper to begin with.

I used my Tim Holtz distress tool to rough up the edges of all of them - except the fussy cut florals. This adds some great texture to them!

I adhered them all down, curling up the edges slightly for dimension.

Finished off with a few of the lovely Autumn Mix Sequins in the kit for a bit of sparkle, and a sentiment from the Gratitude Sentiment Strips that I foiled with some of the foil in the kit, and matted with some of the Dark Chocolate cardstock in the kit.

Next up, the card with those cleaner and simpler lines!

I also used lots of elements from the pattern paper, trimmed down and layered together - I even fussy cut out anther flower to tuck in the upper right hand corner.

I used one of the Audrey Blue notecards in the kit, and layered together some white cardstock - one layer with some texture added with Detail Petal Plate - and a bit of vellum over the top of that to keep the pattern from being too busy. I just wanted a bit of texture - not to overwhelm the entire design with too much busyness!

I added all the layers together, using foam adhesive to adhere all the little pattern paper squares for dimension, then added a sentiment - heat embossed in white on some of that Dark Chocolate cardstock, and a few Pretty Pink Posh sparkling clear sequins to finish this one off!

STAMPtember Collaboration - Altenew

Hello - and HAPPY STAMPtember - a month long party by Simon Says Stamp to celebrate all things stamping. 

Today we are getting to see the next in the progression of the special SUPER SECRET collaboration stamp sets that will be happening throughout the month! Today we have...Altenew!

Here is the card I created using this lovely set:

I stamped the floral, corner frame, and sentiments on a panel of white cardstock, and colored them in with Copic markers and some simple coloring - so easy to fill this image in!

I used my distress tool to rough up the edge of the panel, added some machine stitching, and layered together over some coordinating cardstock - then finished off with a few enamel dots for some dimension and texture!

Birthday Map Card - Simon Says Stamp

Good morning! Today I'm stopping by to share the card I made for my daughter's 15th birthday in September - I know, a bit late, but I had it done in time for her, just hadn't had a chance to get a post written up and shared here! :)

This might seem like an unusual card for a teen girl, but there is kind of a story behind it - not to mention she is generally not into pink and sparkly girly things! I got back from my trip to Italy 3 days before her birthday, and since she is very much into medieval and ancient history, she wanted me to bring her back a birthday gift from Rome and/or Italy. I was only too happy to do that! She also loves travel - this summer we went as a family to Iceland/Norway/Sweden - and she would love to visit Scotland, Ireland, and England someday as well!

 So, right in the middle of this pattern paper from Carta Bella's 6x6 Cartography paper pad is Italy, where all of her birthday gifts came from this year. In the top left corner is somewhere she would also love to travel, and the very tip of Norway is just off the edge of the map at the top.

The sentiment was easy - she also has a fabulous sense of humor, and since she was little has kept us smiling and laughing all the time! So I enjoyed this dry humor sentiment from Simon Says Stamp Big Birthday stamp set, and thought it would be perfect! Heat embossed it in Antique Gold on some vellum, then attached it to the map paper my sewing machine and a simple line of machine stitching.

Finished off by distressing the edges of the paper a bit, layering some solid cardstocks underneath, and finished off with a few wood veneer stars - like sequins, but less sparkly!

Pattern Paper Floral Frame - Simon Says Stamp June Card Kit

Good morning! I'm popping in to share one more card created with the BRAND NEW June Simon Says Stamp Card Kit - Leafy Frames! This is a STUNNING kit - the included large stamp set by the same name is absolutely GORGEOUS, the pattern paper couldn't be any more lovely - not to mention the coordinating tags and frames, and the envelopes, cardstock, and even fun bit of glitter are all fun additions!

Similar to yesterday's card, today's card shares one of those beautiful pattern paper frames with a stamped sentiment from the kit, and a few fussy cut out florals from the pattern paper.

I chose one of those beautiful frames, then carefully cut out a few of the flowers from one of the sheets of pattern paper, and adhered them together. 

I adhered that with foam adhesive to some Ivory cardstock from the kit, layered some black cardstock and some of the solid pattern paper from the Carta Bella pattern paper in the kit and then stamped a sentiment from the stamp set in the kit!

Bright Floral Painted Thanks - Reverse Confetti Stock Your Stash Challenge

Good morning! Stopping by with a card this morning for this month's Reverse Confetti Stock Your Stash Challenge - the fun monthly challenge at Reverse Confetti!

This month's theme is Thank You:

For my card today, I pulled out my long neglected Zig Brush Pens and did some faux watercolor stamping with the beautiful Elegant Florals stamp set, and my MISTI to line it all up. I basically picked a couple of greens and a couple of pinks, scribbled over part of the flowers and leaves, and kept stamping and layering color until I was happy with it - such a gorgeous effect!

I die cut it with the coordinating Elegant Florals Confetti Cuts, layered it on a Grid Stitched Tag, then added a die cut thanks from Hello & Thanks Label Confetti Cuts - die cut 3 times, layered together for dimension, then with some Parakeet Dye Ink blended on the bottom to make it pop a little. Finished off with some sheer ribbon tied on the top, and some lovely pattern paper from the Cheerful & Kind 6x6 Pattern Paper pad - distressing the edges a bit to add some texture there as well.
