I’ve never signed up for an exchange with fewer than the gift-guarantee minimum # of requests before, but honestly there is one (1) thing my id really really wants right now, and that is a handwave-y post-canon AU where these two get to be together and happy. (or, more realistically, together and exhausted and traumatized but getting there.)
Feel free to handwave or completely ignore whatever bits of Unity-related lore you need to, in order to make this happen. I just. They make me so insane!! and I need them fucked up and codependent and in each other's pockets and adrenaline-crashing hard after the months of unimaginable hell they've been through. Honestly you could literally just write me 2,000 words of them having a mutual mental breakdown at each other, or taking a very long nap together, and I would be an exceptionally happy camper.

I just love noncon-related whump and h/c for him so much, and I love Lamb having to witness it, being forced to directly contribute to it, and/or dealing with the aftermath of it in his own protective but not necessarily kind (let alone "technically recommended by experts") way. Is Lamb focused on fury and the need to retaliate on his joe's behalf? Is there a weird possessive element to it too? If he needs to choose what gets done, how is he trying to minimize the harm and control the situation? If it's shipfic, are they already in a relationship, and how does that complicate things? How does it feel to get there afterwards vs. see it all unfold? Is there a difference between the reaction River expects from him and the one he actually gets?

I love Bad Guys Make Them Do It, so I'm enthusiastic about that both played straight as whump or porn--trying to make it as bearable as possible, secretly getting into it despite the audience, wishing for different circumstances, stealing moments, the weirdness of the intimacy and the observation and the potential pain--and about the potential for them to go full Slough House and make it awkward and weird out of spite, which I feel like they would do extremely well. Also love all tags here for support and protectiveness, including River getting protective of/possessive of Lamb for a change. Established relationship or extreme situation where he has to tend to Lamb's old foot injuries? Lashing out to avenge Lamb? And also just the two of them going through the horrors together but being some solace to each other despite that, even if the way in which they are would look weird and off-putting to anyone else. Look, sometimes comfort looks like a boss bullying his subordinate and a subordinate deliberately annoying his boss, and I welcome that alongside, or in place of, more traditionally tender things like hair-petting and huddling for warmth, although I definitely love all that too.

Enjoying knowing you've fucked someone so hard they can't sit down the next day?), jealousy, total confidence in the arrangement, platonic possessiveness (potentially even weirder!
