Update: University unlocked!

jadesimI have not been able to play as much as I should since my last post, although I have played in that time and not posted as well.
My little community has finally earned a University, law enforcement career has been unlocked, and I have 17 households in total.
Many of the first set of children are aging up to teen (the very oldest three have just gone to the new University). Here is one, playing her heart out at chess, working on scholarships (this family has far too many children to support, she will have to work hard)

My founder has been busy. She has almost earned the next promotion now four or five times. She is really unlucky, choosing terrible chance cards, getting bad results from alien abduction and so forth. (I do not allow go-backs or reloading in this hood, I am too nice in general, and wanted more random events). Here she is explaining her recent abduction to her eldest. He goes to university soon, and she seems to be worried about missing him already.
The local pub is very popular, it hit level 10 so the owner (the forest lord of all people) has entered the business career in an attempt to unlock it.
At one house, a toddler aged up with the Vulcan haircut. It seemed to suit her, so Vulcan baby it is (she has aged up to child since then, and still seems suited).
Speaking of the forest lord, interest in advancing his job led him to dangerous use of the star-gazer. He came back a vampire after his abduction (he had to seek a cure, but it sure was interesting to see).
An employment center was opened, the results of which are shown in the picture below. Yep, productive job finding going on there.
And finally, a picture of Silver Pastures from hood view (it is a rural area, not suffering from opening portals, but a bit out of the way). It is looking a bit better than before, though not the work of art I hope for (possibly my decorating skills are improving ... I hope).
And for today, that is all. I do not seem to have any university pictures right now, I guess I haven't built enough to take them yet.
