I only have one tiny blister so far but my quads ache like hell.

Also there is a dutch polka cover of sex on fire they keep playing it.

I knew having a 3G kindle would come in use one day.

Having watched too much Mad Men I have been addicted to their outfits and want to try simming a few, but I'm a bit out of touch with meshes.
I want a dress with a pencil skirt that ends on or just below the knee, with a flat upper body that I can alpha anyway I want, finished with kitten heels. Can anyone point me in the right direction

Emote Us

As you may have noticed GoS is undergoing some housekeeping. This is going to include an emote spring clean, which I thought I'd give anyone who follows my journal a heads up about.

We want our own unique emotes and we're going to have a contest to ask goslings to make some for us. Stacks of tutorials can be found here.
And it's really not that hard, for instance this is my first attempt made in 5 minutes last night, Image, from which I've learnt that I need to improve my shading and that I need to preview on a dark background, because it looks a lot more rubbish when seen against one.

But anyway as I've said the emotes thread will be appearing in the next couple of days, so start thinking and practising.

It has been decided that the winning Sims 2 GoS monthly theme for May is going to be the Apocalypse.

Two reasons, firstly all the mods who were online shortly before GoDaddy pulled the site and had checked the poll confirm that Apocalypse was very slightly in the lead with between 4-6 more votes than Creature Feature; secondly thanks to TSR we are currently having a mini forum Apocalypse so the theme really does fit us this month.

I'm posting this now because the downtime means that quite possibly a few of you have more free time than normal and might want get started on any ideas you might have.

Please also note that we will hold the Earth Day thread in the Pixelated section for about a week once we come back as we are aware that our backup of the forum means that some of the themed uploads may need to be reposted and because April was cut a bit short.

I currently have no ETA for when the forum will be back up.

I have just been having a wander about various sims comms and realised that apart from drips and drabs of info here and there, there is nothing solid informing people of what has happened and what we are doing to try to resolve this.

In short, two days ago TSR wrote to GoDaddy, who run GoS' server, and accused GoS of hosting TSR material on the site, specifically in the "TSR and you" sharing threads.

We have never hosted their material in these threads, all TSR files are shared using third party hosts like mediafire and as such Liegen made a counter claim.

GoDaddy's method of resolving such arguments is to pull the site for 10-14 business days to remove offending material, do note in reality this means 2-3 weeks because weekends and public holidays do not count as business days.

We do not intend to wait 2-3 weeks and then be at the mercy of any further ineptitude from GoDaddy and currently discussions are going on between the mods and Liegen to find ourselves a new home. I believe the most recent back up we have is about a week old so while some stuff will be lost it's almost all there. Personally I have hopes that we'll be resurrected before the weekend is out.

I'll attempt to update this post as and when new info appears.

ETA The first: We have confirmed that we have a Pescadian backup of the entire site and are currently waiting on cheese-like issues

ETA 2: Dear TSR thank you for screwing us at the end of a month rather than the start. We have been refunded the fees for May's hosting by GoDaddy and are currently looking for a temp home while cheese-like issues continue. To this end if anyone knows of any hosts that won't pull sites based on invalid claims, that can offer a decent price and that can cope with our needs (as what we had was a dedicated server with 1gb ram and 1500GB of bandwidth a month. We pull down roughly 40GB of traffic a day) do throw us a suggestion.

ETA 3: Being in different time zones, while brilliant for mod cover does draw out discussions and planning a little. We are still assessing where would be a good fit as a temporary host, as we are keen to avoid any scenario where the forum goes back up, TSR has another pot shot and the new host pulls us and puts us back to square one.

In the meantime thanks you for the support and well wishes, and thank you for your patience, we don't like being down but we would rather go a bit slower and get this right first time.

ETA 4: For those still following this entry, what are you doing here? GoS is back up and the web address is still the same one that is in your bookmarks, now go and give it a hug!

Is GoS down for everybody? I can't get to it or to digitalperversion.

And since the TSR thread yesterday you have to wonder if it got pulled or hacked or is that the paranoia talking?

ETA: Have just heard from Liegen, GoDaddy has pulled GoS temporarily over the TSR issue, not much more info at the moment.

I have been to the cinema 3 times this week! On Monday I saw Centurion, yesterday I went to a freebie preview screening of Hot Tub Time Machine and this morning I went to see Iron Man 2. Have a few thoughts and basic plots, yes it is a bit spoilery

Or has GoS been going super slow for the last couple of days for anyone else?

Disturbingly people posting leaflets for the BNP managed to get to the post boxes in my block.

The leaflet itself is a piece of work, the three pledges

Stop immigration
Put pensions up
Bring our troops home

Someone is going for the elderly racist vote, no?

Then there is a picture of the whitest white family ever to white, it includes a ginger but no blondes. They proclaim that they are not second class citizens, but do nothing to address the fact that they may well glow in the dark.

Then we have a picture of the Nick we don't agree with overlapping a picture of Churchill, major eye roll!

Then the back has two more really white people on it ranting about asylum seekers being sent to the front of the queue and stealing our jobs. it is then topped off by another blurb about bringing the troops home.

Seriously how on earth do they think this will fly in Leicester? To quote the Beeb's info about this constituency:

This constituency falls in a mixed, residential part of Leicester. Like the eastern division, Leicester South has a large Asian community.

Leicester is one of the most culturally diverse cities; it has the second largest Hindu population of any city outside India after Cape Town in South Africa. The city's Diwali celebrations are the largest outside India.

See article here, but you know screw that bit, the most interesting part of the article is this.

"Most bands' contracts include an exemption clause obliging their labels to consult them before agreeing to allow their songs to run in an advert for political parties, smoking or feminine hygiene products."

Tampons, sanitary towels or mooncups, how the hell are they as bad as smoking or politics?
