"Conspiracy of Ravens"
Raven Tree Slimline Make

I'm back today with a handsome frame-able make featuring my new Raven Tree Silhouette digi stamp, Poe Portrait digi stamp, a saying from my Conspiracy of Ravens digi set and one of my gorgeous digi decorative papers from the Vintage Grunge Decorative Digi Paper pack.
I designed the layout of my make in Photoshop by first layering the Poe Portrait digi stamp onto the decorative digi paper and adjusting the size so his head filled most of the panel.
I then removed all the white areas in the Poe Portrait to allow the beauty of the decorative paper to show through.
Next I reduced the opacity to fade the portrait and then added the Raven Tree Silhouette digi stamp on top.
I adjusted the placement so Poe's eyes eerily peer out at us between the branches.
I printed out the collage, trimmed the panel to the size I wanted, distressed the edges with Black Soot Distress Ink then mounted it onto a black mat cut 1/8 inch larger. Next I cut a larger panel from a light brown cardstock that picked up on the lighter shades in the decorative paper and distressed the edges with Bronze Spectrum Noir Midas pigment ink. I then mounted the brown mat onto a black mat.
I mounted the layered main panel onto the background mat stack with black foam tape strips for some fun dimension. I then embellished the two top corners with black faceted jewels.
The "Conspiracy of Ravens" saying is one of the two sayings included in my Conspiracy of Ravens digi set. I changed the colour of the text in Photoshop from black to white and added the black background and printed it out in a various sizes so I could pick which one worked best and the rest went in my stash for future makes. I then mounted the saying onto 5 layers of black cardstock to create a nice chunky piece.
Next I trimmed and tore a piece of corrugated cardboard at an angle in the opposite direction to the slope of Poe's shoulders. I distressed the edges and ridges with a bit of Black Soot Distress ink and adhered it the panel with glue.
To complete my handsome Poe make I adhered the saying in place with a strip of black foam tape to give it even more dimension then added two black buttons on both sides of the saying to frame it.
