Just missed it
MB and I like experiences more than stuff.
The WADAPS* gave us one this year for Christmas.
We went to see Mt Rainier from the top of the gondola at Crystal Mountain.
The mountain was there, and visiblen through the clouds, momentarily.
It isn’t in any of these pictures.

Saturday animal show
| Prairie Dog |
When MB and I were on our last road trip we revisited Badlands National Park in South Dakota.
Both of us had been there before, just not at the same time.
I mentioned in a previous post that we'd seen Bighorn Sheep.
This was the place.

He's there right in the middle of the picture.
Folks were being really careful not to disturb him.
He was ignoring them.
There were others throughout the park.
There were others throughout the park.
So, it appears that they're aware they are safe, as nothing seems to disturb them.

Wet
Updated: 9:08am - weather service reprts 2 1/3” in 24 hours.
Just reporting, not complaining.
The NWS reported that we had more than two inches of rainfall in the 12 hours leading to 11pm last night.

And another tree
This one kinda looks like Mr. Snuffleupagus (Aloysiusl to his close friends).
It resides at the Grand Rapids, Michigan zoo

Speaking of trees . . .
It's not a Christmas Tree, but it overlooks a pretty spectacular view of the Montezuma Valley and Cortez, Colorado.

Aw crap!
I have looked at the NWS forecasts every day for more than two weeks.
They've forecast sunshine most days.
I haven't seen any this month.
I haven't seen any this month.
We had .06inch of rain the other night.
Less than a tenth of an inch was projected for last night.
None of this crap improves the mood.

Huh?
I cruise a number of other blogs hoping for inspiration.
My muse has been loafing far too long.
My attention span hasn't helped, either.
I'm staying away from politics . . . and other things which may disturb the aura.

I could post Christmas stuff . . . but there's already plenty of that.
So . . .

I need to rethink this scenario
I currently have four five six books I am reading, not counting the Bible.
There are three more on the shelf and one on hold at the library.
There are three more on the shelf and one on hold at the library.
I'm not sure how I let myself get into this situation.
None of them bore me as much as Atlas Shrugged.

Oh my!
I had forgotten just how dense the fog gets in the valley because it has been a while since I have experienced it.
Last night I went to a meeting at the Congregational Church.
Visibility wasn't great, but I could see a couple of blocks in the distance.
An hour later, as I came out the door, even just down the breezeway, the mist was evident.
On the road it seemed like I could only see clearly about 200 ft.
This all in contrast to earlier in the week, when there was much sunshine and relatively warm days.
What we really need, though, is some rainfall and snow in the mountains.

Caught in passing
We were really lucky on our last cross-country trek.
There were opportunities to photograph wildlife.
While taking a shortcut* through Zion National Park, we had pulled over on the side of the road and saw a flock of Bighorn Sheep eating bushes.
We also saw some at Badlands National Park.
Maybe I should dig out all of the Bighorn pics and post them?
*don't ask who would consider driving through a national park a shortcut

It begins
What's that you say?
Tomorrow is the first day of Advent, the Christmas season.
We had a wonderful Thanksgiving.
It was relatively quiet at People to People compared to previous years.
It was relatively quiet at People to People compared to previous years.
That just meant we had plenty of leftovers to take to Loaves and Fishes to feed others.

Happy Thanksgiving
There are about 60 turkeys to cook, not to mention everything that goes along with a Thanksgiving dinner for a crowd.
