I signed up for [community profile] origfic_bingo without reading the rules first. I thought it was bingo with creative prompts that could be completed using anything, not just fic. Sort of like Illustration Friday/Photo Friday but with the freedom to use any media I want. After I got my card, I decided to read the rules and realized I was wrong. Everything that is made to complete a prompt has to be somehow tied to an original fic/idea of my own. So my idea of taking a picture of a flower to fulfill the "flower" prompt would not be right, unless I create a character that loves flowers and takes pictures of them. Hmmm...

So, this makes things much more interesting in that I have to give more thought to the prompts. I like it better this way, because it forces me to be much more creative than I was willing to be. Hopefully I won't shy away from the challenge or become intimidated by it. The [community profile] origfic_bingo challenge will last a year and there is no score keeping. So I can take my time in completing a bingo (at least any 5 prompts). Maybe I can use this as an excuse to write a story and illustrate it. I've always wanted to do that.
