DWRAYGER DUNGEON - "R.I.P." (2007 - 2022)

 

Well, here we are the end of Countdown to Halloween, and it's with a heavy heart, I have to tell you that Tabonga and I have made the collective decision that after 15+ years, 3,567 posts, and over 4 million hits, it's time, and this is The End of Dwrayger Dungeon.

 

Maybe a couple of of our 888 followers will be sad about it..............

 

..................But we feel we've accomplished everything and more than we originally set out to do!

When I started this blog, we were old, and now we're really old, although one time somebody actually accused us of being a couple of twelve year olds.

 

It was only supposed to be about the music in the monster movies of the 50's and 60's, and I thought it would end after about 200 posts.

 

I loathed the first time I had to write about a movie from the 70's, and the 80's were definitely not in the plans at all, but once the ball got rolling, there was no stopping it until now, and as The Chambers Brothers said, "Now the time has come, there is time to realize."

 

But before we sail off into the sunset forever, there is one small sliver of hope!

 

Instead of The End, there is always the possibility that this is going to just be one long intermission, but I wouldn't count on it. 

 

Fifteen years, doing four posts a week, without ever missing one, and I think we've actually highlighted more weird films and TV shows that anyone, but now with 1000's of people doing it, the fire has burned out, we're toast, and it's time for us to go!

 

We have had some good times, learned a Helluva lot, and have met some great folks along the way, and to each and every one of you I say Cheerz!!

And an extra special thanx to Lord Litter, Kevin, Michael, Greg and Gordon for all their help over the years!

AI - Visions Of HELL

I thought It'd be fun for my last Halloween Countdown post to get real with some artwork created by Artificial Intelligence! After reading about and viewing artwork of human's concept of Hell, they came up with their own versions, it's freaking amazing and really creepy!!

This one has an M. C. Escher vibe to it.

This one is a Biblical concept of Hell, seems pretty accurate.

The AIs obviously viewed the Hellish artwork of Heironymus Bosch, amazing!

Extra intriguing are the photograph they created, this is the Gate To Hell.

This is a rendering of some Lost Souls.

Hell, their artwork can make real artists very jealous, it's so beautiful in all its horror! Love the way the red is worked in.

Here are two examples of Psychedelic Hell, yes, they melded those two concepts into one. It actually looks like a pretty cool place!

This is another photograph AI generated, wow.

As an artist, I am sooo jealous!

Get this one, it's a Claymation Hell image, creepy fun!

This is a Horror Hell image, what's wild is, AI includes writing here that makes no sense, that tickles my Horror Bone! Very nice artwork to say the least.

And guess what! AI makes videos of Hell too, here are a few images from one bad trip to the bowels of the Earth.

It's one Hell of a roller coaster ride ta' HECK!!

THERE'S GOOD BOOS TO-NIGHT - "Featuring Casper The Friendly Ghost" (1947)

Tonight's Witchy Wednesday Countdown to Halloween featurette is the 1947 Casper The Friendly Ghost cartoon "There's Good Boos To-Night!"

Casper looked a little like the Pillsbury Doughboy in his early cartoons.

Casper's hanging out in the cemetery wondering how he can make some friends.

It looks easy enough to make friends in the book that he's reading.

The sun goes down and all the rest of the ghosts go out for their nightly scare, but Casper stays back by himself.

Casper decides to go out and try and make some friends, but the result is always the same.

First the little calf got scared and then when Mom came to the rescue, she gets even more scared.

Even the smelly little skunk gets the stink scared out of him!

Finally Casper runs into somebody who is not scared of him, and he is overjoyed.

Casper names the little fox Ferdie, and they become best pals.

Here's where the story gets real scary, and I'm not even sure if it's suitable for children of any age.

There's a hunter and his fierce dogs in hot pursuit of little Ferdie, who tries to run and hide!!

When Casper shows up, the dogs turn white with fear.

The hunter and his horse also both get the Hell scared out of them, and retreat as fast as they can.

As a story for kids, I have a real problem at this point!

Casper finds Ferdie dead, I guess he got mauled.

Now even though this story has a happy ending, the kids don't know that until they've sat through this sad and tearful scene of Casper burying Ferdie.

It just doesn't seem right to play with little kid's emotions like that, but this was 1947, nobody really thought about it that way.

But there is a happy ending, because now Ferdie is a ghost and he and Casper can live happily together for all eternity and I guess that is good boos!

STRANGE GOINGS ON AT KAMP KORAL

I noticed some strange goings on at Kamp Koral and though I'd share them with you. I've never seen any of these episodes but as always, the gang over at Spongebob's always come up with terrific monsters, with CGI to boot!

Let's see what prompted this scene... Hmmm, let's see, could it be because Spongebob and Patrick are messing around with a baby jellyfish and forgot that mom was lurking around?

The Flying Dutchman creeps out Mr. Krabs' trading post while the old crab's away!

Leave it to our two knuckleheads to be afraid of the cutest thing on God's Green Earth!

Maybe they should be afraid of the angler fish monster it's attached to... Or not.

Then they meet this little silly putty dude.

Patrick backs into a giant spider web like a moron, and a spider girl comes down to say hey!

Then this guy shows up and he doesn't look all that friendly!

Spongebob and Patrick can't take the heat and race away from the bundle of terror. There's a lesson here, you can't help what you look like!

Back at the ranch, our two little greedy pals eat nearly all the candy, they both belch out loud for about 10 seconds straight, of course.

Suddenly, Spongebob and Patrick look at each other in horror, OMG, kids, what have we done!!

Then they realize, how cool!.. Squidward comes out of his councilor's room and tells the two to shut the Hell, UP!!!

And when they turn around, Squidward backs slowly into his room and closes the door.

Spongebob, Patrick, Squidward and Mr. Krabs are cornered by a very angry outhouse ghost what accuses them of abusing their outhouse privileges.

And it repays them back with their own shit!

First, Squidward gets a heaping helping of raw sewage.

Spongebob is next!

Patrick, in happy mode, uses a big pot to catch the waste, and I do believe he plans on having it for his next meal!!

Then, the outhouse ghost really pours it on!

Mr. Krabs is last to get his just desserts, and even gets a rancid diaper left over from when Pearl was a baby. Hope this made your day better, somehow, and see you back here in a few days....
