Lonely Wolf Treat: The Complete Series

LONELY WOLF TREAT: THE COMPLETE SERIES is an RPG Maker game that combines the previously-episodic story of treat into one package! this project is still in development, so chapter 8 isn't finished yet--there are still a few more updates planned.
for new players: welcome! i don't have a plot synopsis for you this time, because the game isn't finished yet. you can check the original version's page for that, if you're curious.
for returning players: sorry to keep you waiting! a chapter select screen is included at the start, so you can jump right into the new content if you wish :)
many small changes have been made, including:
- new characters and dialogue! all guests characters have been replaced with original characters (including many cameos from my other games)
- better continuity! your actions in the earlier chapters now affect which scenes are available later on (this was impossible until now!)
- cuter sprite art! some of the sprites and tiles have gotten touchups, especially in the early chapters
- improved music! a few of the oldest tracks have been extended or remastered
- sweeter UI! includes a dark window mode option for accessibility
- quality of life improvements! you can SKIP TEXT by holding ctrl now! rush through cutscenes at lightspeed~!

it currently takes ~6 hours to play through the whole story. chapter 8 is the final chapter, and then there will be an epilogue at the end.

I'm so confused, what are you supposed to do with the light bulbs for Eleni's quest in chapter two?
if you get the max amount of money you can buy like 80 and then lay on treats bed and they all EXPLODE thats not true moxie can boost you up to replace the lighthouses near the hot springs for a dull bulb

Yes chapter 8 is going to be the last chapter after which there will be an epilogue as well.

Late reply but you are able to run this game under JoiPlay, it's a little iffy on the controls but it works pretty well
Either that or wait for the game to be completed, Nami said they'll port it to other platforms once development's been taken care of

Why is the music so good? Why do I love all of the characters? (besides manjuu and senbei). WHY IS THIS SO GOOD!!!!
I just booted up the game and the font is oversized (the bottom is cut off and sometimes goes off the screen) which makes it hard to read at times. This is the first game I've ever downloaded so I could have totally done something wrong but I'm unsure on what. What should I do to fix this?

Do you have the rpgmaker vx ace runtime installed? As it was made on rpgmaker I am pretty sure it needs it to run.

Try emulators like joiplay! That's how I played it
theoretically yes, but it's going to be a lot more ergonomic to just play it on a PC (a laptop will run it just fine)

This was amazing, it really made my week, wish there was a way to give a super like beyond just 5 stars (though sharing it with friends does it)! Art is great, music fits, writing is awesome, worldbuilding’s interesting! Wish there was a reddit or something to share discussion and memes in.
My favorite chapters were 1, 2, and mochi in frosting, the later having my favorite single short part of the game in thrill;

I LOVED the tension and foreshadowing when going into that witch's house, my blood actually ran cold when i saw the rooms with all the stuff about forcing animal folks to animal forms; since juju (if i got the name right, i'm terrible with names) only suggested going to their house after mochi told her about her relationship, i really thought it was foreshadowing that she was going to pull a Just Girly Things and get the witch to force either her or Treat into animal forms. The note on the house with Mochi not there was a right fright too!The lore is also very interesting, i love that there are more games in the universe! While i expected the witches to look more nonhuman like the lore book says, the bit about their conspiracy to create “ethical” meat that is actually still made of sapients that are just locked to animal form was great, and the power imbalance it creates sets the stage for a lot of tension when interacting with even seemingly benevolent ones, i love how paying attention to the lore allows you to see scenes in a new light like that! Like even genoise had me on edge with her remarks about pets with the fact she could make them real whenever she wanted, with the added risk of developing dementia making her do it even if she normally wouldnt. I love how the meat thing is brought up again at the store too!
I kinda wish there could’ve been more focus on the town past chapter 2, as it does kinda feel like it becomes closed off and then there’s no effort against it despite mochi’s earlier wishes, but the powerlessness felt by the characters is kinda the point, and the slice of life narrative it goes with is just as good. Plus, the alternate ending of chapter 6 adresses that, i really loved it! It’s funny to think that if they let salt and pepper make filet out of that reincarnation of the racist sheep from zootopia, things might’ve actually went better than otherwise, as it would’ve just been a dissapearance with no confirmation of ill intent (and it could’ve been said that she ran away because she couldnt bare what the town was becoming, etc).

hoollyy shit i randomly remembered this game and found it (very quickly, surprisingly). i have not touched itch.io in years, and apparently my only comment on my account is on this game as well haha. this brought back so so many memories, i can still recall certain parts of the story from playing this YEARS ago. don't exactly know how many, but dare i say around half a decade ago. can't wait to sit down and revisit this amazing game!!!!

This game really warms my heart. It's made me feel heard and seen with all the themes of polyamory and honestly it's probably the best and most realistic depiction of polyamory I've ever seen in fiction. I don't any other game that's made me feel like my polyamory is being represented, so thank you. The game's art-style is so incredibly adorable and it's inspired me a lot. All the four main characters are incredibly well-written and have a lot of depth to them, especially Mochi. Treat is such a mood, shy and softspoken. Mochi is such a ball of fluffy and positive energy but it's really relatable when she gets angry at the bigotry and prejudice of the world. Moxie is a very relatable and very very fun character though I wish she'd share her internal struggles with her polycule. Trick is such a joy and I feel like they have such a positive view of the world despite seeing quite a bit of ugliness in it which is really inspiring. I commend you for your outstanding effort making these games ever since 2016 and I can't wait for the conclusion. I'm hungry for more, hehe~!

Well my laptop at the time had like no space and the soldered RAM failed before i could fix that
the game runs pretty nicely under wine, so that isn't really necessary
Hi Nami, this is your fan from Russia. I would like to have a translation for all the chapters of the game (if you are interested, I would like you to find the game's localizers and translate all the chapters into Russian) by simply playing the game through the chapters (the old translation builds had issues with the translation). If you pay attention to my comment, I can provide a list of translation problems.

Nami has said will be an epilogue wrapping up the story after the final part of chapter 8.
So unless the epilogue is where the climax happens, it ends with Trick, huh?

You don’t need any port, it runs under WINE.
Also the engine only supports Windows,
so unless someone does a third-party implementation of that (that’s a thing for an older version of it), there won’t be any ports.however I’ve just learned that there is an engine reimplementation supporting Linux/macOS now called MKXP that could be used to make native versions available!We really need to bring this to Nami’s attention (if I wasn’t aware of it, I doubt Nami was 😅).
