I wrote a lengthy update about...stuff...but decided to lock it down for now. What I need at the moment is positivity, not analysis.

The 2009 Holiday Love Meme, Secret Santa Style!
MEME
(Check out the post so you can see the kinds of comments people are leaving; I've already sneakily left a few for my friends...)

So don't leave me hangin'. THE MORE, THE MERRIER. Go over to my thread at 'The Holiday Love Meme, Secret Santa Style!' and make up some nice shit about me, then freely deny it was you who said it. It will cheer me up to no end. And I plan to trawl the threads to see if anyone I know is over there, just so I can mess with their minds leave them worshipful comments to which nobody will ever be able to connect me!

And no, you don't need an account at LJ or anywhere else to comment there; the comments are open for anyone to leave 'em, and it's meant to be anonymous, so don't go signing it or anything. :-P If you happen to see someone else there that you know, spread the love to them, too!

Yes, I took the picture. From the back of the 300 level. Terrible seats; pretty happy little camera, though. I ♥ my wee Elph.

A LOT of video to follow (will likely post it all here - I think I got at least 10 decent chunks of amazing songs). I did cry a couple of times - another show Martin was due to attend, in the section ahead of me, and they played all of his favourite songs - but I'm glad I went. Gorgeous night, fantastic set list, and a more enthusiastic crowd you could never find. Dave also looked wonderful - happy and healthy. It was the best show I've seen of theirs (this being the 4th time), and from bad seats (at $120 a pop - not mine, thank goodness), that's saying something.

Fellow fans, hold those thoughts; I'll return with video as it uploads. Meanwhile, a few photos I managed to snap (one's quite blurry, but GAH, you HAVE to see the Liberace cast-offs MG was wearing. Gaaaah!):

LO-FI EMBEDDED VIDEO - now has clips of Wrong, Policy of Truth, Strangelove, Precious, Stripped, Enjoy The Silence, Walking In My Shoes, Personal Jesus, Master & Servant, I Feel You, Home, Waiting For The Night, Stripped...and there were lots I didn't film. Apologies. )

I should really direct you guys to my YouTube channel, since the quality of the HQ widescreen videos is WORLDS better there than the embedded ones you see here. Clicky:

It's official. I need more Chucky P icons. Who's up to the task?

What I got in the mail today made me cry, and cry, and cry. In a happy/sad sort of way. Mostly happy, but so sad for him, because...just...wow. The letter. And the necklace. I'm wearing it right now, and I have to say...I feel weird. I did as soon as I picked it up, before I read the letter explaining what it really is. Now that I know, I am so touched.

And if we thought I'd gotten thrilling packages from the man before? This tops 'em all. I love so much that he remembers. That he bothers to keep files in his computer to look back and see what we've talked about, in letters or in person. He keeps track. That is so far above and beyond...anything.

Ready? Come walk with me through the best hour I've had in a long while, laughing and crying and squealing with every single thing that he'd stuffed into this box (which, according to the postage label, cost him just shy of $30 USD to send - the thing weighed a ton).

Chuck sends his own mail. I love this.
And so the adventure begins.

A sample of things to come:

Prepare to say AWWWWWW and then occasionally laugh. And gag, at least twice. HUGE photos. Click here and GO! )

So. It took as long for me to write about this as it did for me to painstakingly go over each and every tiny thing inside that box. He is, truly, a class act. And I will wear his parents' gemstones with such pride.

Have you ever noticed that his surprises always come at the darkest moments? These weren't supposed to be shipped out until closer to Christmas...and yet here I am, buried beneath gifts and confetti, and very content with that.

Thanks, Chucky P. I'll Shut Up Now.

ETA: See what I miss when I don't check Twitter for a day or two??

I do love that man. Honestly and truly. I'll always be smitten by Tony Blair David Frost Lucian Michael Sheen. That much I shall not forget. (What is it with famous people wanting to cheer me up these days???)

In what capacity, I know not! But it'll be good.
