Population Services International Uganda (PSIU) is a mission-driven public health nonprofit organization committed to improving health outcomes and expanding access to quality healthcare across Uganda. Through a consumer-centered approach, we develop innovative solutions tailored to the needs of individuals, communities, health systems, and markets—recognizing that sustainable health improvements come from understanding and strengthening these interconnected areas.
From our roots in sexual and reproductive health (SRH), PSIU has broadened its scope to address critical health areas including maternal and child health, HIV and tuberculosis (TB), malaria, mental health, non-communicable diseases (NCDs), water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH), with cross-cutting integration of youth, gender equity, climate change, and urban health and development.
Employing strategic market development and evidence-driven social and behavior change interventions, PSIU works to influence policy, mobilize resources, and fortify both public and private health systems. Our initiatives align closely with and support the Government of Uganda—particularly through partnerships with the relevant line ministries, local governments, and district leaderships, complementing national efforts and those of implementing partners to build a healthier, more resilient population.
