Hey there! I thought it might be a good idea to have a post with some general info about me for any newcomers.
I mainly share posts about everyday life, my photography, the house renovations my partner and I are working on, and our cats and my horse. I use my journal to organize my thoughts and sometimes vent. Rarely, I have some juicy drama, but it's all tangential to me, as I thankfully live a drama-free life. There isn't much in the way of politics posts, either, but given the recent election results in the US, that may change to the occasional lament.
I’m a huge nature lover, whether it’s hiking, camping, or just spending time outdoors. There's something about being outside that just recharges me. And when it comes to animals, I’m definitely that person who’ll stop traffic to help a loose dog. If there’s an animal in need or a chance to add a little more nature to my day, count me in. I’d much rather spend time outdoors than dealing with crowded places or lots of people. Give me a quiet trail or a sunny spot with some animal friends any day!
I've been riding horses since I was 9, and my main focus has been dressage. More days that not, I am at the barn riding or hanging out with my horse. He is quite the quirky guy, and we have been on some real adventures.
In my free time, I love to read - especially mysteries, horror, and thrillers. There's nothing better than sitting on my front porch with my morning coffee, reading before I head to work. I'm also a big fan of horror shows (the good and the not-so-good ones — bad movie nights are a thing at my house). And when I’m doing chores or working, I love listening to podcasts on a variety of topics. If I have some free time, you’ll probably find me playing video games. I’m all over the place with what I like—everything from epic adventures like Elden Ring and Red Dead Redemption to more chill, cozy games like Stardew Valley and Terraria.
A couple of quick things: I’m not really into fanfic, so I probably won’t be engaging with those kinds of posts (no hard feelings, just not my thing). Also, if you’re not into horses, no worries! I get that my horse-related posts might not be everyone’s cup of tea.
That said, I’d love to make new friends! If you’re interested in adding me, please comment (all comments are screened on this post) and let me know a bit about yourself!
