Calling the vote now, since it's already into November and I'd like to give everyone ample time to get the book and have time to read before the holiday season swarms us all.

Our inaugural book club pick is Nettle & Bone by T. Kingfisher!

Nominating Books
For now, let's call this a completely open nomination. Everyone can nominate up to 3 books and we'll vote on them in a few days. Just leave a comment saying what you'd like to nominate, and link to the book.

Per the poll, we'll be doing weekly discussion posts for each book we read as we go along.

Book Club Organization
Beyond having an idea for a book club, I'm not entirely sure what sort of structure I'd like to approach this with, beyond reading one book a month, or every two months depending on various work/life schedules. How the books will be picked, will we read on a specific schedule, etc, are all things to be figured out. I'll happily take any and all ideas and suggestions.

Picking Books
My main idea at the moment is to simply have a post set up where everyone nominates one book they feel like reading, and then we can all vote on which book we want to read the most.

Reading Books
Here's where I'd like input the most, as I'm thinking of three ways to do this. First way is I put up weekly discussion posts, which will cover only specific parts of the book (ie. Week 1 is chapters 1-5, etc). Second way is I create a single post, and everyone can chat in that post at will. Third way is that everyone can make their own posts in the comm as a free for all (like, if you hit a point where you need to talk but can't wait, just make a post and say what chapter you're up to).

I personally am leaning toward three because I know everyone read at different speeds and wants to talk about different things. I have this poll below to see what everyone thinks. Feel free to elaborate, or provide ideas as well. I'm open to anything.

Other Book Stuff
In addition to group reads, I'm totally open to just having this be an open book community for us to use however we want. Post about whatever you've just finished, a reading challenge, talk about upcoming releases, whatever. That way it can be more interactive and fun instead of just having a couple posts a month talking about one book.
