a nervous tic motion of the head

This may be the most productive year I've had in terms of writing fanfic (I actually posted stuff!). Which, lets face it, shouldn't be surprising since I'm juggling work and grad school and my brain's main reaction to increased workloads and stress is abscond to the land of pretty words and boy-kissing. Thanks to the lovely medrin I now have an A03 account! It only has 2 hockey rpf stories in it at the moment. (Ugh, it's so shiny. It feels weird finishing stuff and posting it and people actually reading stuff I wrote. I won't ever get tired of it.)

This writing thing may become a problem come finals time (this weeeeeek).

Arrgh. Why is this show so horrible yet so terribly good for me? I mean, Season 1 was a mess, let's admit. I profess to watching just to skip to all the Derek/Stiles parts. Then Season 2 is happening and it's strangely good so far and then I discovered fic and now I'm writing one and this will all end in tears.

I blame this on Tyler Hoechlin's face (ehem and body). You can blame everything on Tyler Hoechlin's face. That man has a face that can reduce your brain to smears on the wall. He'll be all grumpy and frown-faced at the camera. But then you see his other pics online and he's SMILING. All that does is make me seriously leak FEELINGS and HORMONES into the house like I'm fourteen again and I legit need to shut down my laptop for a while and stop staring at his face. I couldn't deal with his face for long periods of time. I need my brain, okay?

Why are grad studies so expensive? *shakes fist at world* I'm handing off all of my savings (ALL OF IIIT) at tomorrow's school registration and the only thing I could comfort myself with is the thought that there is an alternate universe somewhere where I have mutant super powers and this is some result of the SRHA.

In other more positive news: I'm starting to fill avenger kinkmeme's prompts to cheer myself up. Finished one! Then started down the long and painful road of starting multiple Wips at once because prompts were so interesting. Damn it brain. 

I swear I'm going to finish a fill if it's the last thing I do tonight.

+Randomly started fanfic on train to work. Yey! Feeling wordy and creative!
+Then abruptly realized I only watched 2 eps of canon
+Add to that, I haven't written in an Anime fandom in like a long time (10 years + +)
+And I know next to nothing about fishing. Except that it involves a fish, a rod, and some line thingy.
+Googled fishing techniques and God, how can I wrap my mind around this? How??

(This is me when starting a new project in order to get away from other unfinished projects.)

 Working title of "a nervous tic motion" is now stuck on Push fanfic wip whyyy. Now my journal and fanfic have the same titles. Huh.

I don't know why it took so long before I discovered them, especially when I liked the Iron Man movies back then and read the fanfic (mostly het since I'm a Tony/Pepper fan). But come on. I've been reading Marvel for Shatterstar and Rictor, also for Xavier and Magneto goodness a couple of years ago and it's only now that I felt the nudge in this direction?? Darn. Now I have a lot of Marvel backreading to do just to be able to catch up to these guys and emotionally prepare myself for the Avengers movie, which, judging by how I reacted to the Captain America film, will be pretty much full of FEELINGS and CRYING.

A good gateway fic to all Steve Rogers and Tony Stark feelings: Team Building Activities by valtyr. Literally you can start with everything in valtyr's catalogue. They're enjoyable even without canon knowledge (though I ended reading up on canon anyway because of TPTB approved Steve/Tony moments).

Of course, this also means my RL friends are going to be getting an earful about them. It's like I'm a walking evangelist of my OTP. Still. I think of it as Spreading Awareness to the Masses of the Utter Gay Moments Existing in the Marvel Universe.

Next: Femslash OTP in the Marvel comics. I'm keeping my slash goggles on.
