My requests are Brotherhood & Manga since most of the characters I’ve requested either don’t appear or don’t have much of a relationship in 2003 :) I’m sure I’ll love whatever you come up with!

My letter has specific prompts for characters and pairings, as well as some more info on likes and DNWs :)

In general, likes extend to: building friendship and trust, UST that stays unresolved, UST that DOES get resolved, repression and self-denial, crushing or pining from afar, hurt/comfort and characters taking care of each other either romantically or platonically, unexpected characters coming through in the end, power differentials, complex backstories and relationships, domesticity, complex loyalty, road trips, forced proximity, touch starvation, mentor and mentee friendships.

DNWs: porn about characters under the age of 18, homophobia and transphobia whether internalised or external, pregnancy, genderswap, a/b/o, extremely described violence, medical kink, extreme body horror, non-con (dub-con is fine), non-canonical character death.




I really love the worldbuilding in FMA and if you want to expand on some of the less completely fleshed out parts of it (more detail about Ishval or Xing for eg) then I would love whatever you come up with! Having said that, I prefer character-oriented pieces to stories that focus entirely on worldbuilding, and I’d also prefer that homophobia or transphobia not be a central feature, and if any angst exists re getting into a relationship then it comes from a source other than this. I like both G-rated shippy stuff and E-rated PWP, so basically feel free to write whatever comes to you. Similarly, pre-shipping, established relationship or first time stuff is all good.

My general likes in fic deal with complexities in relationships (whether these relationships are platonic or romantic), and if you go with something that deals with UST don’t feel like that tension needs to be resolved on the page, as I’m just as happy with something that hints at future possibilities, or a bittersweet ending that remains ambiguous. I also love anything that hints that people have to overcome significant internal and external barriers to be together, complex histories and backstories, or people who move from animosity to friendship/love. I also love characters who have power differentials or extremely disparate skill sets coming to appreciate each other.

Angsty and dark stories are fine. Under-negotiated kink that can even go to dubcon is fine.

My DNWs are non-con (especially as part of an angsty backstory), OTT gore, omegaverse and mpreg (or any other kind of preg, really) and character death. I’d also prefer no genderswapping, or any ‘always a m or f’ headcanon. While complexity and damaged people trying to negotiate their way through something unfamiliar is fine, I would strongly prefer no outright abusive relationships, either physically or mentally. Power differentials are fine, but I would strongly prefer that the power is not abused or used to hurt the other partner. Absolutely no underage porn, please, though kissing or crushing is fine.

Character and pairing specific prompts:

Olivier Armstrong & Alex Armstrong
Honestly, I admit that their sibling relationship is easily one of my faves, especially with the antagonistic surface and the deep loyalty below. I love how ridiculously weird the whole Armstrong family is and their blithe acceptance of how their family runs, and I’d love anything that looks at Olivier and Alex growing up, and how they came to be the way they are – or has Olivier always been that ruthless and Alex that soft? Did either of them have any thoughts or doubts about following family military tradition? Was Olivier protective of her younger brother when they were kids, despite herself? Has there ever been a situation where Alex was the stronger one? Are they somewhat more friendly in the time after the story ends?

Basically I’d love anything that looks at their dynamic, in any context or time period. I admit I’d really love a story that looks at the aftermath of the story, but similarly something that looks at their relationship when they're young would also be more than welcome.

Scar/Tim Marcoh
Basically this is my OTP for this fandom and I would really love anything that deals with their relationship, regardless of where you want to pick up with them or from whose PoV. I admit I have a real hankering for Marcoh-PoV fic where he attempts to sort through his feelings either for Scar or regarding their already established relationship, as well as his own guilt and sense of responsibility for Ishval. I would also absolutely love ‘missing scene’ fic that deals with their travels and ESPECIALLY anything with them getting to know each other better and noticing their slowly changing feelings towards each other.

Darker fic is also fine, feat. under-negotiated kink or trying to fuck each other better with mixed results.

Anything that deals with forced proximity, awkwardly avoiding talking about feelings, or explosions of ~~passion after much repression is very, very welcome.

Tim Marcoh & Scar & Mei Chang & Xiao Mai & Yoki
I love every single one of these characters (yes, even Yoki!!!!) and I love their unlikely little group. I would absolutely adore anything that deals with the time they spend together, their impressions of each other, and any side adventures they might have while journeying. This doesn’t need to be plotty as I’d be just as happy with a totally character-oriented story, especially anything that deals with how their respective views of each other may or may not completely line up with reality :) A reflective story or a humorous one would absolutely be my preference here.

Scar & Scar’s brother
FMA totally spoils us with all kinds of sibling and familial relationships, and Scar and Scar’s brother are no exception. While anything that looks at their relationship would be amazing, I am especially intrigued by how Scar reconciles his love for his brother with his hatred of alchemy – if indeed he does that at all, or if he just furiously ignores it, or furiously does not ignore it and causes all kinds of problems in the family. I’d love to know if Scar’s brother shares his religious convictions but simply believes in a wider interpretation, or if he is more sceptical of religion in general, and how this affects his relationship with his very devout younger brother. Anything that looks at them growing up, their spats and more serious fights, and their extreme loyalty and love would be absolutely welcome.

Scar/Original Male Ishvalan character
I kind of love anything that looks at a character we only see at a certain (bad) point in their lives in canon before they reached that point. To that end, I’d love something that looks at Scar’s earlier life, his first crush – on a friend, on another monk, on his brother’s hot older friend – and how he deals with it, given that at this stage he may have already decided he wants to take a religious path in life (whether monks are completely celibate or just not supposed to have inordinate attachments to others is up to you). The original male character can be anyone you choose to make him, but I definitely headcanon Scar as being attracted to men pretty much exclusively, and Ishval not having any issues with that, so if he personally does they don’t stem from internalised homophobia, but rather relate to the individual in question or Scar’s desired path in life that doesn’t have room for romance.

Paninya/Winry Rockbell & Garfiel
I find all of these characters absolutely adorable and I would LOVE something that looks at their lives while Winry is in Rush Valley. Winry learning from Garfiel and having a true mentor/mentee relationship with him would be absolutely wonderful, as well as her developing a crush on Paninya and how she reacts to this. I would love something that deals with an unconventional domestic relationship between them, their home and work life, and Paninya slowly becoming more and more attached to the household, either as she and Winry realise their feelings for each other, or as their relationship becomes more formalised (especially if one day, Paninya just doesn’t leave :p).

Something that fleshes Garfiel out as a character would also be amazing (give him a boyf if you want to! Give him an interest outside of automail!), for example something about telling Winry how he got into the automail business and why it’s meaningful to him.

If Winry and Paninya are under the age of 18 in this fic, please do not include any explicit porn. I would also strongly prefer something on the fluffier side – no non/dubcon or extreme kink.

King Bradley/Mrs Bradley & Selim
I’m condensing King Bradley/Mrs Bradley into this heading, and you can just decide whether you want Selim to be around or not if you decide to write for this group :) Basically I would absolutely love anything that looks at their day-to-day lives, most especially in a fic that is somewhat unsettling in tone, whether you want to come at that from an angle of how Bradley views his wife in contrast with how he views other humans, or whether Mrs Bradley has ever noticed anything strange about her husband and son, and if so, how she rationalised this. I’d love to know what it was about Mrs Bradley that made young King choose her, and how he came to realise how he felt about her, and how he felt about feeling differently. I am interested in domesticity and how Bradley negotiates who he really is with his home life, and I’m interested in whether Mrs Bradley is wholly ignorant of her husband’s oddities and sees them as charming, or if she has ever been willfully blind to them – particularly after the horrors of the Ishaval War. How does she reconcile what she must have some idea of happening there with the man she knows?

Similarly, something from Selim’s PoV dealing with his feelings for his mother would also be very welcome; Bradley may have chosen her but Selim did not. Does he have any significant affection for her (prior to what we see in canon, when he is honestly surprised by her actions)? Do Bradley and Selim ever have a disagreement about her? Does Selim ever warn Bradley about his attachment to her? How do they negotiate domestic space when they both know they are homunculi, but she does not?

Mei Chang & Ling Yao
Again, I’m collapsing these together since some of these prompts will deal with them individually as well as in relation to each other.

I really love both of these characters, and what I love about them are the things where they’re quite similar to each other, in that they’re both fiercely loyal and determined to do right by their people, and will stop at virtually nothing to protect those who are close to them. I also love the fact that both of them outwardly present a somewhat different face to the world to what’s at their core. Both of them have a ruthless streak, but nonetheless can and do care deeply about others. They’re both very skilled and very experienced fighters.

If you want to look at them as individuals, I would adore something set post-canon for Mei, especially something where she journeys back to Amestris or Ishval to see her old friends; I would love to know how she’s grown up and what her and her people’s situation is now. How has she negotiated the political landscape of Xing? How has she grown as a person? Is she is still optimistic or has she become more jaded? How does she view her childhood hardships? What is her relationship with Ling like – are they genuinely friendly, or respectful but mistrustful?

Ling I love because I really love all characters who seem to be jokers on the surface, though in reality this is at least a partial cover for their deadly serious intentions and dedication to their goals. I would love something that looks at his childhood and his realisation that he is going to have to fight tooth and nail for what he wants, and how he comes by his very strong sense of ethics that a leader should protect his people. This is a core theme of FMA and while we get a good look at how Roy comes to his belief that a leader should be for the people, we get it far less with Ling, most especially since it’s implied that the clan system is heavily ruthless and competitive. How did he set aside the beliefs he’s been raised with and start to want to protect not only his own people but also the weaker clans?

Vato Falman/Jean Havoc
I’d love something that looks at this pair of kind of second-stringer Mustang crew! I would love something that looks at them in their after hours lives, especially something that starts with them having a casual thing that develops into real feelings, or something post-canon where they have to deal with the things that went down and their adjusted understanding of the world and what’s in it. I am kind of a sucker for ‘normal’ characters in a world of alchemy and homunculi and diaper-wearing psychos, and what they make of all of this. Something where they slowly come to an understanding with each other and maybe ‘remake’ the world to make sense again would be wonderful.

Alternatively, Falman can just be jealous of whatever big-boobed lady Havoc is perving on XD
