and for the second... I finally manage to get out the splinter... so.. the thing I pulled out while I was still at the beach was about 1 cm (0.393 inches) long and about 1mm wide (it was flat, so no thick measurement ;))
the thing I got out today...was 5mm (0.196 inches) long... I mean.... all in all thast thing was huge...and yay for my body heal up this fast - I felt relieve immediately after I got it out - with some of the gooy yellow/white stuff - then I went swimming..and now it's lilke a tiny scratch.... it doesn't hurt that much (well, not more like a little scratch :)
