soaps

This community was created for fans of daytime soap operas. There does not seem to be a big enough soap opera following on dreamwidth to support communities for individual shows, so I created this community with the basic intention of making a place to discuss/post anything and everything related to daytime soaps, including: soap news, episode commentary and discussion, userpics/icons, graphics, fanfiction (including slash), etc.

Feel free to join and post. Just use common sense, and we'll flesh out the rules as we go.

The Rules

A lot of the rules say to use a cut, if you do not know what this is or how to make one, see FAQ #88.

Re: Tags
• Use them.

Re: Spoilers
• Please put all spoilers behind a cut.
• When posting spoilers, cite your source.
• We do not all live in the same timezone, so when discussing specifics about a show on the day it airs, place them behind a cut.

Re: Graphics
• Please put graphics that are larger than six icons behind a cut.
• This should be obvious, but if you're posting icons, they should be icons that you created and, thus, have the right to share.

Re: Fanfiction
• Use a cut
• Use ratings
• Only post stories that you have written.
• Slash
  • Posters: post a warning that the fic is slash before the cut
  • Readers: if you don't like slash, ignore it--don't read it and don't leave a comment.

Re: Surveys/Polls
• Responses should be made in a comment to the original survey. Please do not create a new post with your answer.

I'm not a huge fan of rules, but hopefully these are all that will be required to keep this community friendly and frustration-free. ^_^
