Subject:Thanks a Million! (Please pimp and repost far and wide)
Yesterday Operation Write Home mailed its ONE MILLIONTH handmade greeting card to deployed service members to write home to their families.

In addition to sending blank cards for them to write home on, OWH also sends letters of encouragement and thanks to our deployed heroes.

Please take a minute to celebrate this milestone with OWH. Watch this video, or stop by the website or their Facebook page and leave a comment. Consider re-posting this video or mentioning OWH to your friends (especially the ones who are crafty so they can get involved).

It's easy to say, "We support the troops!" Take a moment to support a group that actually sends support to our troops.

I hope this is ok to post here. Operation Write Home sends handmade cards to deployed service members so they can write home to their families. (Because there are no Hallmark stores in the desert!) OWH is having a Blog Hop on Saturday, March 20. This is a fun opportunity to see some blogs, get good card ideas, and learn more about why people make cards for OWH. If you're interested in participating, please click!

Subject:Pigment inks?
I'm pretty sure this is a completely stupid question, but I'm just so confused - maybe someone can enlighten me?

I went and spent a fortune on ColorBox pigment ink pads in all different colors. After several experiments today, I've come to the conclusion that there's just no way to get the ink to dry on any sort of paper, however long I leave it to dry, even if I try to heat-set it. The only purpose I see is to use it as an embossing powder base. But I can use an embossing ink pad! And different colors of embossing powder. What's the point of having all these pigment ink pads if I can use embossing pads/powder for the same effect in any color I want? I wanted an ink that I could use on its own, and these clearly are not capable of that. I fail.

So my question is actually two-fold: what's the use of pigment ink pads, and what sort should I get if I want to use inkpads alone? The dye-based?
