Lakeshore Records will release the first-ever score album for CBS’ Hawaii Five-0 reboot. The album features selections of the show’s original music composed by Brian Tyler (The Super Mario Bros. Movie, Fast & Furious, Iron Man 3, Crazy Rich Asians, Avengers: Age of Ultron) & Keith Power (Magnum P.I., MacGyver, Criminal). Also included is the drama’s main title theme originally written by Morton Stevens for the 1960/70s series and rearranged by Tyler. The soundtrack will be released digitally this Friday, July 7. Check back on this page for the streaming/download link. CBS Records has previously released a soundtrack featuring the theme, a score suite and ten songs from the drama back in 2011. Hawaii Five-0 is developed by Peter M. Lenkov, Alex Kurtzman & Roberto Orci and starring Alex O’Loughlin, Scott Caan, Daniel Dae Kim, Grace Park, Masi Oka, Chi McBride and Jorge Garcia. The series aired over ten seasons between 2010 and 2020 on CBS.

Okay I of course want it to focus on Steve and Danny but are there any fics where Steve is still in the Navy and Danny is still a cop where John lives. I would love for it to be long but will take any length. Though if there is any sexual content I prefer bottom Danny. Thanks so much in advance.

Completed please unless it's still being updated. Once again thanks.

The Adoption option is a good example.

It was announced a few days ago, maybe last week, that Ion Television would be airing Hawaii Five-0 on Friday, January 8 at 9/8c am. I would definitely check that you get the station for where you live as this only applies to those living in the US.

The schedule shows that they will have the first 18 episodes of season 1 from 9/8c am to 2/1c am on January 9.

I have a[screenshot of the schedule]screenshot of the schedule here

but if it is too light to see, here it is typed up.

I don't know when the rest of season 1 will air or when the rest of the series will air as the schedule currently goes to January 11. I will check sometime next week to see the updated schedule.

If anyone is interested in having a discussion post put up for these 18 episodes, comment here and I'll get something together before January 8.

This pandemic and me being back in school have really messed with my brain in regards to fandom stuff. Later today, or sometime this week (don't quote me on that) I'll have some fun-ish Five-0 stuff to share.

But to start with, The Complete Hawaii Five-0 series was released on DVD earlier this month!

It's available on Amazon for around $90? I have Amazon Prime and that's how much it's showing me right now.

Here's a DVD review of it, complete with the box set pictures at the end.

DVD Review: HAWAII FIVE-O: THE COMPLETE SERIES

CBS’ Hawaii Five-O reboot ran for 10 seasons/240 episodes, from 2010-2019. Lieutenant Commander Steven J. “Steve” McGarrett (Alex O’Loughlin) is a former Navy SEAL and the son of a retired Honolulu Police Department cop. After a tragic incident, he returns home to Hawaii to head the Governor’s (Jean Smart) new Five-0 Task Force, which aims to cut through the red tape and give the police all the tools they need to clean up crime on the island. McGarrett wastes no time putting his team together. Detective Sergeant Danny “Danno” Williams (Scott Caan) is a neurotic single father who transferred from New Jersey to the HPD six months earlier in order to be closer to his young daughter. Detective Lieutenant Chin Ho Kelly (Daniel Dae Kim) is a 15-year veteran of the HPD who used to work for McGarrett’s father, but he left the force after being falsely accused of stealing money. And Officer Kono Kalakaua (Grace Park) is Chin Ho’s cousin, a former professional surfer and soon-to-be graduate of the police academy.

Hawaii Five-O is an action-packed show that often feels more like a feature film than a TV series. Each season usually kicks off with some epic summer blockbuster-like episode, and throughout each season, the task force often finds itself in deadly and dangerous situations as they try to take down corruption and the bad guys. The series does an excellent job of mixing story of the week with ongoing character drama and developemnt and longer season-wide story arcs. Going back to the pilot episode after 10 years, the series still holds up amazingly well, and still feels like a high quality production. The relationships between the characters are quickly estanblished, and while they remain somewhat consistant over the course of the series, there is defintely room for growth. At the core of the series is this really fun nagging brother-like relationship between Steve and Danny, who remain partners throughout the 10-year run. But all of the members of this task force quickly form a family bond, caring for each other during the hard times, and also having a lot of fun along the way. The backdrop of Hawaii not only provides a beautiful and different setting from most other shows on TV, but it also sets up some really uniquely-Hawaiian storylines as the writers mix in characters, themes and cases related to the culture and history of the island. The writers also find a great balance between the humor the more serious, thought-provoking and exciting cases for the team to work on. Throughout the series run, there are also several really creative episodes that pay homage to the original series, including a remakes and returning characters.

Description: HAWAII FIVE-0 is a contemporary take on the classic series about an elite federalized task force whose mission is to wipe out the crime that washes up on the islands’ sun-drenched beaches. Detective Steve McGarrett, a decorated Naval officer turned cop, returned to Oahu after Hawaii’s former governor persuaded him to head up the new team: his rules, no red tape and full blanket authority to hunt down the biggest “game” in town. Joining McGarrett are Detective Danny “Danno” Williams, a relocated ex-New Jersey cop who is committed to keeping the islands safe for his children; Captain Lou Grover, who formerly headed Hawaii’s SWAT unit; Jerry Ortega, the islands’ local conspiracy theorist; Tani Rey, a bold, recent police academy graduate; Junior Reigns, a former SEAL who comes to McGarrett looking for a job.and Adam Noshimuri, a friend with old ties to a deadly crime family. Helping them is Kamekona, a local entrepreneur who has his pulse on the Island; Sgt. Duke Lukela, a trusted member of the HPD; and medical examiner Dr. Noelani Cunha. The state’s brash FIVE-0 unit, who may spar and jest among themselves, remain determined to eliminate the seedy elements from the 50th state.

I can't copy and paste this because it ia far too long, but OMG! The DEPTH of Lenkov's vile behavior is ridiculous!

“This Was Abuse”: The Fall of a CBS Showrunner
BY MAUREEN RYAN
JULY 20, 2020

Earlier this month, CBS fired Peter Lenkov, who’d overseen a powerful fiefdom. V.F. spoke to 30 sources about what happens when a network gives somebody a difficult job, then seems to let problems pile up for years because he’s making them money.

I suspect there's even more than was covered by Vanity Fair.

'MacGyver,' 'Magnum P.I.' Boss Peter Lenkov Fired at CBS
1:00 PM PDT 7/7/2020 by Lesley Goldberg

The network has parted ways with one of its top showrunners after an investigation into what sources say were multiple claims that he created a toxic work environment.

Following an investigation into multiple claims that top showrunner Peter Lenkov created a toxic work environment, CBS has fired the Hawaii Five-0, MacGyver and Magnum P.I. showrunner, The Hollywood Reporter has learned. Lenkov was dismissed despite having a year left on his rich overall deal with CBS TV Studios, which produces MacGyver and Magnum P.I.

"Peter Lenkov is no longer the executive producer overseeing MacGyver and Magnum P.I., and the studio has ended its relationship with him," a CBS TV Studios spokesperson said in a statement to THR. "Monica Macer will be the showrunner on MacGyver and Eric Guggenheim will run Magnum P.I. Both are currently executive producers on their respective series. Our studio is committed to ensuring safe and respectful production environments. Over the past year, we have assigned human resource production partners to every show, expanded staff training and increased reporting options. We will continue to evolve our practices with continued focus on building trust with all who work on our sets. Every complaint is taken seriously, every claim is investigated, and when evidence is clear that policies were violated and values not upheld, we take decisive action."Read more...Collapse )
