So I learned yesterday that Formspring is going to be closed forever.
After 4 years of service, that site will be gone after this month.
So instead of using Formspring, I will have this pinned thread up for any questions that you want me to answer.

If you have anything that you want me to say or ask, post it here and I'll answer them.

"How would you live the next 24 hours if you permitted yourself to trust, FULLY, that the universe is conspiring on your behalf?"

There are a number of things that I would if the universe is rigged in my favor. I would talk to people that I haven't met online or in person without the risk of being instant rejected. I would go traveling, hoping that all of funds would hold together. I would win the lottery after 3 years of not playing it. I would try something that I never done (like a risky activity like skydiving or something that I never eat before) without the fear that I would die from food or the activity or from the extreme anxiety that I would experience. Really, I would take a lot of risks as things will go my way. Without risk, I think people would do the same thing when it comes to being social or doing new stuff. Fear kept me from doing a lot of stuff without the change of dropping down a few steps, so having the world rigged in my world, that fear goes away.

Greetings, this is your host, The Torchic Maniac.

It's been several months since I used this blog (especially after I made it so beautiful) but I am restarting my old blogging mini-series, the Eyes from a Socially Awkward person.  I am going to dig up the old version of it so you guys get an idea what I did and what I will be visiting.  A lot of stuff happened in 3 years and I consider myself socially awkward but I know most of the reasons how I am and I am combating by doing new hobbies and going out but this blogging about explaining things in my point of view.  There will also some miscellaneous posts too because I like to express myself through my public blog.  For now, until I get things together, this will be a YouTube, Tumblr and Google+ exclusive but I will be adding to it Facebook in the next week or so.  This time around, you get see my face as I will be post written blogs as well as vlogs. I hope you are as excited as me.

The prompts that I got for this day is something that I would like to reserve for a more private background, so I am going to do one of these prompts. For all of my devout followers and stalkers, the rest of these prompts may appear elsewhere.

Write about how something you do outside of work has helped you perform better at work.

The thing about working at retail is that you have to interact with people. I got much better over the years but there was a point in my life that I couldn't do better and that people seem to break me down little by little by little.  During that time of my life, I was not the most outgoing person in the world.  I was not social at all.  Psychotherapy was something that helped me a lot and it was something that I needed so I can help myself when it comes to having friendly relationships with people and customers and co-workers.  It was a difference that even my co-workers observed too, like a completely different person came out.  It still frustrates me that I waited so long to make that step but I am glad that I did make it in the first place.

torchic44: (Sitting Culumon)

This is not part of the prompt but I wanted to get this off my chest.
I went through 2 wallets this year. I got one from my birthday day, which I loved but it died slowly.
I bought another one on eBay for a cheap price ($3) and it died in a month.
So I got another one yesterday for another cheap price ($3.5)
Cheap price for cheap quality.  I should learn that :/
Next time that I bought a wallet, I'll get a more expensive one or just buy one from a department store.
/rant

I have 2 prompts. The first one I can't do because I don't have the stuff to do it but I will show the prompt anyway.

Choose a photo from your childhood and study it closely. What is going on in the foreground? The background? Who is in the picture and how are they related and interacting? Describe the setting and the furnishings. Make the picture come alive with your words!

The problem is that my earliest picture that I have available is one that I took picture day in my Junior year of high school and it doesn't have much of a background. Not much to say about that other than the fact that I was much more skinnier back then. It's in my Facebook for those who have access to that.  I decided to not do that prompt.  All of my older pictures are in another computer that I don't have at this time.

Are you evaluating a new opportunity?
This is an exercise about being mindful of the projects we choose to take on, by making sure each new challenge or opportunity supports our top priorities. Start by typing out "My top three priorities at this time in my life are..." and answer for yourself.

Then, consider a new idea, project, task, or opportunity that you are investigating, and write out some reflection: Beyond the initial enthusiasm, how much does this opportunity contribute to each of my top three priorities? How will my efforts be returned and when?  How much will it COST, in terms of money, time, energy? BE PRESENT. BREATHE. LISTEN. SMILE. DO ONE THING AT A TIME. ENJOY.

My top three priorities at time in my life are finding love, finding something to do with my life, and finding a full time.  Finding love is the most difficult because it can be located anywhere yet it isn't something that I can just see from the get-go (well, it can be but I haven't seen it yet).  I have no idea how to truly find it or now when I do find it but it is something that is hard to find in general.  It will probably cost a lot more energy than time and money. Finding something to do with my life is not so tough.  It's just the matter of finding what I want to do.  Going back to school is something that I was thinking about.  That will cost time, money and a lot of energy. I didn't do too well at school anyway because I kept on getting distracted with other things (especially when I was doing online classes) but that was 6-7 years ago and I think that I changed but we'll see. I know that homework will kick myself and it will be tough if I do have a full time job.  That leads to the final thing.  I need money to fully maintain yourself.  It won't cost much money to get this started but it will take a lot of time and energy to make it work.  Having a part time job have its perks but at the same time, I need something that would make me feel comfortable in a financial stand point.

torchic44: (Singing Torchic)
Here are yesterday's prompts for the 30 day challenge, which I know that I got behind again:

According to Law of Attraction, we attract to our lives whatever we give our attention to, whether wanted and/or unwanted. Describe in one sentence something that is uncomfortable and unwanted for you. Then give 5 minutes to writing about how you would like things to be.

For the stuff that I don't want to attract, I don't want close-mindedness, untrustworthiness, and hatred in my life.  I can probably go on and on and on about the stuff that I won't want in my life but that could take awhile and I wouldn't be following the prompt.

As for the stuff that I want to attract in my life, I want people that are honest, open-minded, and friendly.  That's not saying a lot because anyone can be like that. However, people that are genuine are much rare in my opinion.  I am hoping that I will find more friends that are genuine (which it looks like that is happening very slowly but surely) and I hope to find a significant order that is genuine.

What's the most important thing to do right now?

The most important thing to do right now is to find comfort in my life.  Right now, I am somewhat comfortable with it. Of course, life isn't perfect but I find myself in a rut that I don't know what to do, what to expect, and what to look out for.  I lack purpose in my life.  After moving out (which was my biggest goal this year), I am left with very little goals.  I have some plans in the works for my future. Going back to school is one of those ideas and I want to learn either additional skills in computers or go a completely different path although. I hope by next year, I'll know what to do with my life because being still means doing nothing.
torchic44: (Victini Pic 2)
Here is prompt #2.

Today when you begin your writing, spend a few moments to bring your awareness to your physical experience and tune in to your body. Run an inventory check from the tips of your toes to the top of your head. In your journal, greet your body/tension or feeling. Perhaps ask its name. Then ask what is has to tell you today. What is the message your body has for you? How does it feel? Is there any pain or tension? Is there any sensation you've been ignoring? Allow the words to flow. Once your body has responded, ask the next question that occurs to you. Type the questions and answers on separate lines, and indicate which "voice" is speaking throughout the conversation.

For this prompt, I think this one is a bit "involved" but the prompt is a good one.  I am just lazy today but I will play along here.  I won't go through all of my body but I will notice the stuff that's worth mentioning.  For today, it is my left foot.  It is fine today but it was in pain yesterday for no reason.  I didn't step on anything or did any hard walking or working. It's quite strange.  Then I have my stomach, which feels full all of the time but I also feel hungry all of the time too. I do think that it is related to other emotional problems but I'll get to that later.  My armpits itch.  It's one of those itches that you hate to have because it prevents you to sleep.  I think it is associated with the deodorant that I used.  My head always feel achy in some form.  Sometimes, it is the typical headache to the nastier migraine to the odd bubble feeling.   Gotta love the meds. The hellish migraine from last year (as well as all of the meds that I took) is a chilling reminder of what meds can do to my mind and my head.

I guess the message that my body is trying to say is that it is uncomfortable, especially the armpits.  To answer that, I guess a shower is in order.  As for my head, it just needs some rest but my head always need to some rest.
torchic44: (Victini Pic 3)

So I skipped a day yesterday. I was visiting some friends yesterday and I had some business to deal with.
So I am ready for the next entry. It also came to my attention that I was doing the challenge wrong.
I was supposed to have some prompts to do every day but step up for the challenge late.
So I won't get the official prompts until 5 days.  I have a friend that will give me the prompts so I don't have to wait.

So here's the official prompt for today:

To kick off this month's Digital Journal Challenge, write about why you want to keep a journal:

What benefits are you hoping to experience?
If you've kept a journal before, how has journaling been helpful to you in the past?
How would you like journal writing to help you in your daily life?
What issues do you think journaling could help you solve?

First and foremost, digital journaling is not new to me.  I have kept my Livejournal for around 9 years now and I am still using it but not as much as I used to. I had plans to do it regularly but I just update it when I want to.  So why did I start journaling? I thought that it was a fad because I was in many video game forums and some of the posters had Livejournals and I started my own.  I never expected to me a big thing for me but it did become something bigger and eventually, it became my dairy.  It shows the person that I was when I first arrived in Athens and how I became really lonely and my social phobia became really dominant in my life.  It was my place to vent and to post my ideas and to explore my past and my thoughts about the future and the people that influence all of those things.  So it is a great experience. Life got busy and journaling slowed down when I joined other social networks, like Facebook and Experience Project (which I am no longer a member of).  The main reason why I want to do this challenge is to get back into journaling for at least a month, which I already failed because I skipped yesterday. However, I will still continue doing this challenge.  I can't promise that I will not fail again though :P

Panic

torchic44: (Victini Pic 1)

TM here

I got my haircut done and I am glad.
Unfortunately, I misplaced $3, which was the change that the barber gave me.
I also went to the store to get a few things and I noticed that the 3 bucks were gone.
It was just 3 bucks so I am a bit upset about losing money.
I lost much more money in the past, thanks to my own stupidity.
Unfortunately, people are not as caring as what they used to be.
Dropped money = pay day for those people.
However, it is only 3 bucks.

I been reading up on the Ebola outbreak in Africa.
It's very bad that a lot of people are infected by the virus with 3000 dead.
If the outbreak continues to spread in Africa, it could infect a million by the end of the year.
It is also very unfortunate that we have 1 person with Ebola in the US.
Now, I am reading that the US will suffer the same fate as Africa, which isn't true.
I know that some people don't have any faith with our government, thus having no faith that we can control this.
But unlike in Africa, we do have the resources to contain the virus.

I will admit that I am still a bit nervous about Ebola in the US.
It is a virus and it is capable of spreading anywhere.
The sources that say that Ebola is hard to catch is conflicting as some say that it could be airborne.
We'll know a few weeks if the virus has spread anywhere else in the US.

The panic doesn't seem so bad right but it will get worse when more cases appear in the US.
Panic will drive the whole US mad.

Anyway, I need to get prepared for work soonish.  Short shift but it won't be too bad.

This is TM signing off.

I don't remember where I found the October blogging challenge but I will post more about it when I find the link to it.  Pretty much, I will be blogging stuff about what's in my mind for a month, doing an entry a day.  I will say that I will also be doing the National Blog Posting Month thing in November but I will do that in my Tumblr blog (as I have something special this year).  Today, I am just about to go to bed.  That doesn't mean that my entry will be cut short.  I been thinking about my hair lately.  I am so hairy with my beard and my side burns being big.  It's not the look that I desire to be.  If I am not lazy, I will get my hair cut done sometime this weekend.  You know, it would be wonderful if I can get my haircut done myself then I don't have to pay the barber every month to get it done.  However, I think that some people like me when I am hairy.  I'll take a before and after picture when I get my haircut done so you guys can see the big difference. Some people say that I look so much younger after my hair cut.  For my Facebook followers, my profile picture is what I look like after my haircut.  I have some hair pictures so what I will make a new one later.

There are some other things that I could talk about but my bed is calling me.  I hope that you guys will follow me here on Dreamwidth.

Greetings everyone,

I am finally doing my first blog entry and I am very sorry that it took me this long to make this first one.  However, someone gave me an idea and I thought I should blog about it.  I want to talk about music.  I see a lot of people with their MP3 players and their phones, listening to music.  I do believe that music can be very powerful.  Sometimes, there are more than just sounds and words.  Some of that music got a lot of meaning. It can be a story or an express of emotion. I understand that.  However, I never seem to develop a taste into music, at least not normal taste of music.  I am and will always be a fan of video game music.  That’s pretty much all of the music that I listen to because it makes me think back to the games that I played. In addition, there are some songs that I have listened but never played the game but it but I still found it catchy that I still enjoyed.  Video game music also allows me to think about story ideas as the background music that I listen to relates to the mood of the story and/or the adventure of my characters.   So when it comes to music, video game music has been my music of choice.

But there are much music out there with more genres. Majority of them, I can’t get into because it seems to foreign. There are a lot of popular songs and popular artists that I still don’t even know and it makes me feel so left out in the music world.  Well, my blog won’t be about music but there will be some entries about discovering music and I want you viewers to help me with that.  I know that I developed a good taste for techno and electric music because a lot of video game music is like that (but video game music can be any genre).

So you guys should help the Torchic Maniac by giving him music for me to listen to.  Perhaps, I will develop a taste of music that would be compared to other people’s taste.  Then again, everyone will always have different taste of music.

I decided to combine yesterday's entry with today's entry.
However, I was just too tired to make one last night.
Anyway, yesterday was Black Friday and a lot of good sales were out.
I had no money to spent on anything (well, I did but I need to save because I owe bills).

You know, Black Friday is known for madness and there have been both injuries and deaths in these events.
On Mashable, they highlighted a link to a Black Friday Death Count.
Right now, it is saying 7 deaths and 88 injuries.
It's very hard to believe that.
But people would really kill for those savings and they were so serious about that.

All of this can be summed up into one picture.
If you seen any of the "Hunger Games" movies, this one is just makes sense.

This post conclusions the National Blog Posting Month.
Since I technically didn't post anything on yesterday, I lost the challenge this year but it's ok.
The other 28 posts showed that I did tried my best.
Personally, I did think I did pretty well this year.
I didn't post anything too personal and I had some fun.
I don't know how many viewers that I have this year.

Of course, there will be more blog posts but there will be much less frequent than it was in November.
Take care, everyone!

torchic44: (Victini Pic 2)
I am thankful for a lot of reasons.
This year was a wild ride.
Medical-wise, it was a terrible year and I am glad to be alive and well (even though that I am fat and sluggish).
However, I gained some new friends in my life.
I am glad that my friends and my family have helped me throughout the bad stuff.

I am thankful for my friends, both online and offline.
I am thankful for my family.
I am thankful for having a job that is keeping afloat.
I am thankful for having a great support team.
I am very thankful for being alive.

Greetings, readers!

I wanted to game online but the internet isn't being nice with me.
The wind is too hard and it is blowing the phone lines.
If the phone lines are blown too much, the internet connection dies for a small moment.
That moment will cause my game to lag out if I am in the middle of one.
The cold weather also increases that chances too of a short disconnect.
So I am stuck on Facebook but the good news is that I have more time and thought for this blog entry.
Tonight, I am going to ramble once again on random topics.

I think one of my biggest resolutions is to lose some weight. However, I have a bad habit of making New Years Resolutions and keeping them.  Losing weight was like 2 of my last New Years Resolution list and I gained weight each time with a massive load of weight gained this year due to medical issues.  So I have to do it again next year because my weight gain has gave me back problems now.  I was very flexible last year and now I am becoming tired easily with my load.  I can't let myself go.  I have much more to give to this life and my frame will not be the reason why I can't do my goals.

I have shared a lot of stuff about LGBT stuff but I haven't posted stuff about that here.  There is a specific reason why I didn't do it this year and I want to keep that reason a secret (but it will be revealed one day).  Let's just say that I am very supportive to the LGBT stuff and I am very happy of my LGBT friends (as well as my furry friends).  I would like to think the Have a Gay Day Page for helping me gain a bunch of wonderful people.

I had some time to watch some Inside Edition and I saw this story here about the viral video about this baby wrestling. According to the video, it look borderline baby abuse as the man is throwing the baby into the bed and the pillow.Well, there is something called Shaken Baby Syndrome. It's when a baby's head been shaken so much that it cause brain problems.  To me, I find it a little bit risky to play a baby like that but life does have its risk (but risking is no laughing matter.

Ok, that's it. You have a good night.

torchic44: (Culumon user)
Good evening, everyone!

I was planning to ramble for this entry but my head is not feeling well at the moment.
So I don't want to think too hard.
Instead of rambling, I will make an entry about useless gadgets.
There are stuff that seem good in theory but there are stuff that we just don't need at all.

I have a link to a very good 10 top list of useless gadgets.
The link to that list is here.
In that list, it contains a bunch of useless stuff, which includes...

Foot Tanner

Why would people just tan their foot so it would be darker than the rest of the body?

Electronic Fork

A "smart" fork that tells you to slow down when you eat but it doesn't always senses that.

Laptop Steering Wheel Desk

When people are not supposed to use smartphones while driving, this invention is meant to be able to use laptops while drinking.  Man, does that mean sense to you?

Laser guided scissors

For those who need some extra help cutting a straight line, a ruler and a pencil can do wonders. A laser guided pair of scissors is so fancy for no reason.

There is probably some more useless stuff out there but I need some rest.
I wonder if you guys can name some other useless gadgets out there.

Good afternoon, readers.

I actually don't have a lot of say today.
But this link will highlight a bunch of stuff.
In my quest toward weight loss, there are foods to eat and foods to avoid.
Sugar is the most hardest ones to avoid because they are everywhere.
I am typing this entry as I am drinking some nice orange juice.
However, I know that I am drinking too much sugar.

According to this link here,

The 2005 Dietary Guidelines for Americans recommends no more than 8 teaspoons per day of added sugar based on a 2,000 calories/day diet.  That's 32 grams if you're reading labels, and about 6% of your total calories for the day.
32 total grams sugar/ 4 grams per teaspoon = < 8 teaspoons added sugar/day.

Someone posted on Facebook a link about how much sugar is in some of the every day items that we buy.
The results are shocking!

Each sugar cube is 4 grams of sugar. So anything more is bad.

Let's look at this picture.

Image

Gosh! That doesn't make me happy about half a gallon of orange juice :(

Soda is much more worse than that.
I really need a game plan to deal with this sugar addiction.

Thank you for Sugarstacks.com for bring me to my attention.

Greetings, readers!

This is the last week of my weekly post.
I would like to think all of my readers for keeping up with me.
This last week will be rough because of the holidays and I am running out of topics to cover.
But I hope to keep you guys entertained for you guys just for a bit longer.

Sweepstakes are everywhere.
Most of them are free.
Some of them have a very small cost.
But only a few will win.
Have you won in a sweepstakes?
I believe very few of you guys have because of the chance of winning is so small.
It is the thought that a lucky person would be a winner but someone else could have that mindset too.
Then there would be hundreds and then thousands of people apply for that same prize.

I guess it is a way, apply for a sweepstakes is senseless.
But as long as we have hope, people will still apply.
As long as there are stories that there are winners, people will apply.

I was thinking about that because I applied to about 8 sweepstakes over the last week.
Of course, I don't expect to win.
The lottery is about the same but it is much more expensive and the odds are even lower.

Well, if you believe in luck, perhaps someone will get that prize and much more.

torchic44: (Singing Torchic)
Greetings, readers!

I wish that I had a better idea for an entry this afternoon but I don't.
I am really tired right now because I didn't get much sleep and I am working third shift this evening.
You know, working third shift has been a challenge, even though I mostly do it during the weekends.
It is a challenge that I really want to reconsider one day because I am not an night owl person.
I have to readjust my sleep schedule for one day only, which is a two day ordeal.
It also means that I don't have much of a weekend.

That doesn't mean that I am planning on quitting doing it.
It does mean that I might have to think about ways to doing it better.
Just think about nurses and night workers around the work.
The idea of third shift isn't new and it can be done.
I also think that I am not the best candidate for the job but I am still kicking.

In addition to that, my sleep schedule during my normal hours suck.
I can't pinpoint the reason but it is quite annoying.
So I think there is many issues with me when it comes to third shift and sleep.
Those two things must work together or disaster will happen and it won't be fun.

Hopefully, tomorrow, I'll make a better entry than making an entry about me whining.
However, there is a lot of resources about doing third shift effectively.
I been reading about that for a while now and I am trying my hardest to use those tips and tidbits effectively.

(23/30)
torchic44: (Singing Torchic)
Greetings, everyone.

Up to this point, I been doing entries that deal with a specific topic.
Those are good but I am scatterbrained right now.
I don't want to talk about one topic but I am just unload my mind.
So today's topic is about my rambles.

First and foremost, thank you all for reading my stuff up to this point.
We are getting to the last 8 entries of National Blog Posting Month.
I did break my promise about doing web cam entries and I will eventually make up for that.
Of course, I have no idea who reads my stuff.
Unlike Livejournal, there is no way in Dreamwidth to see the amount of visitors that I get.
So it's ok.  It's a challenge and like challenges.

Thanksgiving Day is very close and soon, it will be Black Friday after that.
I don't have extra money to spend on Black Friday this year.
Well, I already have enough tech as it is.
My PC is still in its prime as it is one and half years ago and it is my baby (since I custom built it)
My laptop is half decent and could use a replacement but it serves my purpose and it is under warranty.
Now, I do have a netbook too but I been having issues with it from the start and it is under warranty.
It's been sent to the warranty people to get repaired or replaced.
Yeah, I have no reason to have a PC, a laptop, and a netbook.
The truth is I wanted a portable machine that I can use to check e-mail and post entries.
But the Android OS doesn't suit what I wanted to do.
In all truthfulness, the netbook should of been an iPod or a smartphone.
Shoulda, woulda, but didn't.

So sometime next week, I will be making Beer Mac and Cheese.
Never heard of it until Monday.
It was something that I wanted to try.
I never cooked with beer before so this will be my first.
So I am excited.  I heard that it will be an unique cheese sauce.

On Tuesday, I felt a little bad after work because accidentally misgendered a customer.
I thought that the customer was male but the person was actually female.
Based on the customer's attire and voice, I really thought that I was talking to a guy.
However, the customer look androgynous to me and I didn't truly know the gender of the person just by looking.
Those moments are quite rare and it is hard to address for me.
Then again, I could of just avoided to use gender pronouns if I really don't want to guess and risk the chance to offend the person by misgendering her.
In hindsight, that's what I should of did.

There is a huge campaign about breast cancer.
It is a serious condition for women.
Well, any type of cancer is serious.
But I hope you guys know that men can get breast cancer.
The very, very small amount of breast tissue in male can develop into cancer and it gets serious.
While the campaign targets mainly women, the campaign will help both genders.
Cancer is such a serious illness.

That's it for my rambles.
Thanks for reading them.

torchic44: (Victini Pic 3)
Greetings, everyone.

Today was somewhat of a busy day but I got some more hours in at work.
I am thinking about what to make next week for Thanksgiving.
Other than my Green Bean Casserole, I don't know what I am going to cook exactly.
I'll figure it out soon.

Tonight's topic is about personality tests.
I thought about that topic because I took about several of them over the past couple of weeks.
Apparently more and more employers are using them to get them a view of their candidates before the interview proccess.
Unfortunately, I have no idea what these employers think of me.
I could be their best would-be employees ever or the most lame person on the planet.
So that's a mystery. Perhaps, I could be lucky.

I don't have any real criticism about personality tests in general...
but it does make me wonder if they really work.
Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) is one of more popular tests.
It tells a person's personality. There are 16 results.
There is also a large bunch of questions.
Those results creates a profile of a person.
I took that test about a few times.  I think I took one last year.
I was a INFP but my result changed to a INTP.
Here are the 16 possible results of the tests here...

My older personality profile (INFP) was this...

Idealistic, loyal to their values and to people who are important to them. Want an external life that is congruent with their values. Curious, quick to see possibilities, can be catalysts for implementing ideas. Seek to understand people and to help them fulfill their potential. Adaptable, flexible, and accepting unless a value is threatened.

My newer personality profile (INTP) was this...

Seek to develop logical explanations for everything that interests them. Theoretical and abstract, interested more in ideas than in social interaction. Quiet, contained, flexible, and adaptable. Have unusual ability to focus in depth to solve problems in their area of interest. Skeptical, sometimes critical, always analytical.

In a way, I feel like I am both of them since they are similar in a few ways.
However, I am a person with a lot of depth and I am still learning the ways of the world.

Personality tests does show a view of a person .
But it doesn't stop some people from lying though.
I mean, if an employer is looking for a particular person, a person might go for the questions that the employer might look for rather than the honest answers.  That's probably a loophole that some people might do.  That's so unethical but hard to catch.  It makes me wonder how many people do that...
