So I posted this in a couple writing communities but I know I have a few writers on my flist and thought I would see if anyone had any advice/thoughts on the subject so here goes:

I mostly write screenplays and short stories, but I have an idea that started as a script that I now think will work much better as a book due to the amount of characters and depth and length of the story. My problem is that the screenplay I'm starting from is written from an omniscient point of view that spends time with each character (there are 6 main characters) as well as showing the audience clues that the characters are not always aware of at first. Because of this, I'm not sure which way to go with the book. I am hoping to get opinions on points of view as well as other places to look for information/opinions on this and hopefully some helpful hints about books to read that might be similar in it's use of multiple characters and points of view.

Hopefully I have made some sense with my questions here! I am completely open to any suggestions, ideas, critiques, info on other writing communities, whatever. Novel writing is such a completely different animal than screenwriting and I'm at a bit of a loss as to how to do things such as build suspense or feature each character. Hey everyone! In honor of Friday Night Lights getting a third season I made a bunch more FNL inspired stuff at my cafepress store. I am so stunned about Heath Ledger! My jaw literally hit the floor when I saw the news. I just can't believe it. I am so sad for his daughter and for everyone who loved him. What a tragic tragic loss. I was really looking forward to watching his career grow. He was so talented and it seemed also just a really good, loving person. I was just getting over the sadness of losing Brad Renfro who was so talented but just never really got past his substance abuse issue to "make it" (see Bully, he's so good in that), and now this. In memory of Heath, I made this:

Whew, this year has been kicking my butt already and I'm only two weeks in! Working on two vids right now. Both of which should've been finished over the holidays. *hangs head* I am starting to feel more creative again though. So that's good. Maybe I'll get some things rolling now.
