CSF Thursday Challenge - CSF929

Image

For this week's catalog CASE, I chose to loosely follow the sketch. Instead of the scalloped circle, I used the scalloped oval in the Framed Tulips bundle. I did keep the floral images at top right and lower left of the scalloped background, but went with a different color scheme.

My mother's 91st birthday is in nine days, and she loves violets, so this card is for her, along with a batch of her favorite cookies, lol. She'd rather have cookies than cake, and now I know where my cookie monster tendencies come from. 😁

Image

The violets were die cut from Basic White, then colored with Stampin' Blends. The centers have tiny bits of Golden Glow glued behind. I brushed Peaceful Pine ink onto a scrap of white for the leaves to produce a lighter shade. The veins got a little Peaceful Pine Shimmer Brush on them and some rhinestone jewel "dew drops" were added.

I also brushed Fresh Freesia ink on the center of the oval to help the greeting stand out.

CSF Saturday Blog Hop - White on White

Image

Image

Today's Create With Stamping Friends Saturday Hop theme is White on White. (If you're old enough, you'll remember a song with this title by Danny Williams that was popular in 1964.) 😉

Image

On the card base the embossed layer was popped up on dimensionals, and the second layer was also added with dimensionals. The leafy stem was adhered with multipurpose glue, and the Basic Gray greeting was popped up on mini dimensionals. Measurements are given below.

Measurements
  • Card base: Basic White 4 1/4" x 11", scored/folded at 5 1/2"
  • Embossed layer: Basic White 3 5/8" x 4 7/8" (Because this piece is wider than the folder, I laid it in the embossing folder so only half was embossed, then turned it the other way and embossed the other half.)
  • Top layer: Basic White 3 1/4" x 4 1/2"
That's all for today - see you next Saturday! Up next is Libby Fens at Libby Stamps. Or click the "back" button to go back to Lori de Groot at Loritamarie Crafts.

CSF Thursday Challenge - CSF928

Image

This week's Create With Stamping Friends Thursday Challenge is another catalog CASE, this time on page 41.

Image

For my inspiration, I chose the banners from the Three Banner Punch. I know it's barely past Independence Day, but Halloween will be here before you know it! I was enchanted by the kitties in the Oh My Fright bundle, so that's the bundle I'm using today.

Image

On the Timid Tiger card base was adhered a strip of Crisp Cantaloupe Gingham Gallery DSP. It was topped by a strip of Basic Black that was embossed with the Halloween folder from Seasonal Cheer Mini Embossing Folders.

Image

The tree (Basic Gray) was adhered next. The greeting was stamped on Crisp Cantaloupe and punched, then all three banners were adhered with dimensionals. The little bats, cut from Basic Black, had a piece of white glued behind their eyes to make them look extra spooky. The ghost and bats were adhered with dimensionals. After stamping and coloring the "Cat in the Hat", it was die cut and adhered with dimensionals, as well.

Measurements

  • Card base: Timid Tiger 5 1/2" x 8 1/2", scored/folded at 4 1/4"
  • DSP: Crisp Cantaloupe 3 3/8" x 5 1/2"
  • Embossed strip: Basic Black 2 1/2" x 5 1/2"
