Oprah Is a Travel Pro–Shop Her Go-To Sweatpant Jeans, Podiatrist-Approved Shoes, and More From $15

It’s impossible to give Oprah Winfrey a singular label—in her 72 years, she’s lived countless lives. But if we’re doing labels, I’d feel comfortable handing her one that says “travel pro.” Oprah has visited dozens of countries in every corner of the world, logged miles and miles exploring the United States, and picked up plenty of travel know-how along the way—including wisdom on what to wear.

Thankfully, Oprah doesn’t gatekeep her favorite travel finds. There’s a lot to glean from her annual Favorite Things lists, where she explicitly shares the what and the why behind her go-to travel essentials. But you can also pick up plenty of insight by perusing the star’s Instagram account.

Admittedly, my jewelry is often treated as an afterthought during travel, floating at the bottom of my toiletry bag or in a random duffel pocket. During a trip to Australia, Oprah was spotted wearing several wrinkle-proof, form-fitting athletic jackets. This functional athleisure staple works as a swap for a sweatshirt or a puffer, depending on the weather (and how much of a sweat you’re planning on breaking), and I’m pleased to say I found an Amazon lookalike for $20.

This pick from Pander is the spitting image of the Lululemon belt bag that Oprah wore while hiking in Australia, but for less than half the price. It’s spacious, sleek, and allows for easy access to your essentials all day long. “The material feels durable and wipes clean, and the zippers are surprisingly good quality for the price,” said one shopper. “[It’s] such an easy throw-on bag for errands, travel, or work.” 

Automet Pocket Joggers

On her 2025 Favorite Things list, Oprah included two different pairs of joggers. This $15 pair from Automet is reminiscent of a cashmere option she featured in her roundup—super soft, stylish, the right amount of roomy, and perfect for staying comfortable on long flights. If you’re down to drop extra cash on a cashmere option, this pair from Naadam is a good bet.

Softies Marshmallow Reverse Seam Crew Neck Lounge Set

At this point, the Softies brand is practically synonymous with Oprah herself. These marshmallow-soft, elevated cozies are great for airport days and once you get to your destination, they can be thrown in the wash and worn as pajamas. My favorite part? They actually get softer over time.

Rag & Bone Miramar Terry Sweatpant Jeans

I was intrigued by the buzz around Rag & Bone’s viral sweatpant jeans when they first hit the scene—and then I found out Oprah is a fan too, which sealed the deal. These optical-illusion pants are perfect for travel days when you want to look put together but feel like you’re wearing pajamas. Oprah put it best: “[These are] hard pants that are actually soft pants.”

Vionic Kearny Sneakers

Podiatrists—and Oprah—are all about Vionic shoes. They’re good for your feet, with plenty of arch support and cushioning, while still being actually stylish. I love this sleek sneaker-loafer because it can easily be dressed up or down (having a multipurpose shoe during vacation is absolutely key), and the slightly platformed sole pulls double duty, adding a bit of lift while helping to alleviate heel pain. Wins all around.
