Visit GOAT Space

GOAT Space is our free, donation supported community workshop for anyone to work on wheelchairs and assistive tech. We are open for you to come and do basic preventative maintenance, try out new components and accessories.

Come and use our tools, supplies, and space in downtown Oakland!

For July 2026, we are still unpacking and setting up. Available, unpacked, and sorted right now: free wheelchair cushions, seat backs, seat slings, footrests, and many other parts.

We welcome volunteers to help us unpack, organize and inventory our supplies!

Visiting hours:

We’re generally open 10 am to 4 pm on weekdays.

Here’s the directions:

We are behind the Bookmark Bookstore on 10th and Broadway in Oakland.

Walk down 10th to the end of the bookstore building, and to your left will be a metal gate. Ring the doorbell marked GOAT and someone will let you in!

12th Street BART is a block or two away. There is street parking with meters, but please don’t try to park in the parking lot behind the bookstore – we don’t have access to park there!

Note: There are scented products in the space, a thing we can’t control because for now, we are sharing space with a local candle making business. We keep our door open for ventilation and have masks available. If you are sensitive to strong scents or have asthma, please be aware!

Finally, please donate to support GOAT Space and all our activities! You can subscribe via Patreon, or use Benevity for corporate matching, or plain old PayPal to donate!
