Happy to share that my story is among the nominees. 'Saving Tapor Pullom' is about a former Indian spy allegedly abducted by the Chinese army and his daughter-in-law's quest to find him. And yes, the title is inspired from the Steven Spielberg film. Link in the next post.

I don't understand why the govt is so afraid of the BBC documentary. I saw it with a group of boomers and they were yawning throughout. Everyone knows what happened in Gujarat. The support Modi gets is not in spite of, but because of it.

Can someone study the Indian mutant of Stockholm Syndrome? It's been six years since the outbreak and victims are still fact-resistant.

Since 2018, @joyopal and a team of researchers studied Twitter discourse by Indian public figures. They found how BJP succeeded in cultivating goodwill among a large number of them using a carrot-and-stick approach. A thread.

Manoj stopped our cab on a hilly stretch en route to Allahabad. He opened the car boot, took out a water can and poured some on the road. "There's no water around here," he said. "The monkeys must be thirsty." :')

I analysed last 5 years of complaints filed against TV news channels to India's TV news regulator. The major find: some of the top channels are also the top violators of the codes for ethical journalism.

Patanjali is at it again. A half-page ad in today's The Hindu newspaper claims to have a 'permanent cure' for a bunch of diseases, backed by research and evidence. I went looking for such evidence last month and found little. Just take a look.

Last week, I spent a couple of hours with @parthajitpawar, third generation of one of the most influential political dynasties in #India. Next day, his team cut off my access to him. Here's what went down.

On a train to Delhi. In front of me is a mom called Lovely and her kid Kiara. Her brother's name is Honey, her father's name is Lucky. She's trying to video call someone for the past 10 minutes whose name is Lover Boy. My initiation into the new life has begun.
