"While retail trading in some cases, like on Robinhood, blocked the purchasing of GameStop, hedge funds were still allowed to trade the stock. We need more regulation and equality in the markets." -- @RepRoKhanna

Some personal news, as they say… I’m looking forward to adding big banks to my current coverage of hedge funds, private equity, IPOs, etc. for @CNBC. I knew that my summers in college, spent behind the teller desk at Town & Country Bank in Leawood, KS, would pay off someday.

Bumble's board is 71 percent women (10 out of 14 directors) (Just a *subtle* nod to those companies who say it's SO DIFFICULT to find women for their boards...)

The enormity of the news makes it feel like several decades have passed since I was last @CNBC. As of today, though, I'm back from maternity leave. I have been awed by my colleagues and peers, covering the multi-faceted crises. I'm looking forward to reporting again.

GameStop shorts are already down $5.05 billion in 2021, net-of-financing, mark-to-market losses, per @ihors3. That's more in paper losses than the company had in market cap...just yesterday. $GME

NEW: Oatly has hired bankers to help with a ~$1billion IPO this year, per three sources close to the deal. It's backed by Oprah and Blackstone and was valued at $2 billion in July. I'm told IPO valuation will be multiples of that.
