🎶 Black Hole Star 🎶 Aren’t those the lyrics? @NASAWebb discovered Little Red Dots in 2022 and researchers are working to connect pieces of the puzzle. By analyzing one dot’s spectrum, the team has found evidence that it is a black hole star. go.nasa.gov/4uKB3Km
A field of galaxies against the black background of space. In the center is a bright-white elliptical galaxy that is the core of the Abell S1063 galaxy cluster. Around the core are short, curved red lines, which are distant background galaxies magnified and warped by gravitational lensing. A couple of foreground stars appear large and bright with Webb’s signature eight-point diffraction spike pattern. Toward the very bottom, slightly off center toward the right, is a small red dot that is highlighted by an orange square outline. A larger orange square in the top right corner shows the object in more detail. The object, labeled “GLIMPSE-17775” looks like a fuzzy red dot with a yellow core.

This could be your Roman empire. Apply to join us for a NASA Social at @NASAKennedy as we launch the @NASARoman Space Telescope on Aug. 30. Experience the launch firsthand, and help us tell the story of NASA's spectacular new space explorer. go.nasa.gov/4a9LEap
Side view of Roman's optical telescope assembly. The assembly looks like the tip of a dull pencil. The primary mirror is a shiny, silver circle, like a CD. Six black struts extend from the edge of the primary mirror to a black cylinder, which houses the secondary mirror.

🐝 Buzz Buzz 🐝 Those aren’t bees buzzing toward their hive, they’re galaxies! @NASAHubble captured an image of this galaxy cluster, MACS0329-0211, which can help tell the story of how the structure of the universe evolved. go.nasa.gov/4a1PBhb
Numerous galaxies dot the scene and appear to cluster around the image center. The view includes large elliptical galaxies along with spiral and lenticular galaxies. Faint arcs of distant galaxies gravitationally lensed by the cluster appear in the upper-right quadrant of the image. A couple of foreground stars are also visible and easily distinguished by their diffraction spikes.

Sorry to barge in 🚢 @NASARoman arrived at @NASAKennedy on June 21, after a shipping journey packed safely inside its own environmentally controlled transportation container. Next stop: space! go.nasa.gov/4oJZypC

After mating the Pegasus rocket carrying Katalyst's LINK spacecraft, @northropgrumman’s Stargazer L-1011 aircraft departed Wallops. Wallops' ability to support both spacecraft & Pegasus integration within weeks streamlined this mission to boost Swift's orbit later this summer.
A large white airplane takes off with a rocket attached to the bottom of its fuselage. A long blue stripe runs down the middle of the plane, below the windows and above the wing, curving to bisect the tail fin. Blue letters spell “Northrop Grumman” above the windows to the left of the forward boarding door. The sky is overcast, and there is a line of trees in the background. The foreground shows the taxiway and a grassy strip. (Credit: NASA/Jeanette Kazmierczak)

Jupiter’s fast traveling particles captured by Juno 🏃💨 NASA’s Juno Mission measured particles traveling close to the speed of light near Jupiter. Those speedy particles will help scientists learn more about how and where high-energy particles form. go.nasa.gov/4fHzHMB
An artist's concept shows a planet at the top center with a blue band arcing around it in a horseshoe shape. The blue band is labeled the magnetosheath. The inner part of this blue band, closest to the planet, is labeled the magnetopause. The outer edge of the blue band is labeled the bow shock. Just outside the blue band, to the lower left of it, is a purple wedge-shaped area labeled the foreshock. On the far left is a red shaded area with red arrows pointing from left to right, appearing to push against the magnetosheath (blue region) and foreshock (purple) region, labeled the stellar wind.

And the award goes to… NASA scientists James Irons and Eric Vermote were awarded the 2025 William T. Pecora award for outstanding scientific contributions toward a better understanding of Earth through satellite or aerial remote sensing. go.nasa.gov/4oq8O1R
James Irons is slightly off center in the image. He is looking to the right of the camera and is holding a microphone in his left hand, looking to be standing and presenting or making a speech. He is wearing a maroon, short-sleeved polo and has white hair and a white mustache. Behind him, in the background of the image is a banner with the NASA meatball logo and a logo for a NASA Social.
Eric Vermote is centered in the image, looking slightly to the right of the camera and smiling. He has short, dark hair, and is wearing a dark green suit and matching tie. He is seen from the mid-torso up.

Even from afar, wildfires are creating unhealthy air. A NASA-supported study found wildfires have worsened ground-level ozone, or smog, across the U.S., with larger changes in the West and Midwest. Wildfires can increase surface ozone thousands of miles away from active fires.

From Goddard intern to Space Communications and Navigation deputy program manager for capability development, Greg Heckler is creating comms infrastructure for the Moon. 🎧 In this episode of Houston We Have a Podcast, hear how his team supports Artemis: go.nasa.gov/43joNoP
Graphic for Houston We Have a Podcast. The Moon is partly in shadow, filling most of the right side of the image. An illustrated satellite is beaming down lasers to small craft on the surface of the Moon. Smaller, similar comms spacecraft are orbiting the Moon farther back. On the left, Earth appears smaller, surrounded by illustrated orbits of many comms satellites. Text reads: "Episode 425, The Future of Deep Space Communications." The red and blue NASA meatball is in the upper right corner.
