This is no longer a mere 'clash'. Sources have revealed that: At least 20 Indian troops are already dead. 3 of bullet wounds. 45 have been captured with 25 of that number having been released. 135 Indian troops are injured with some at 303 field hospital and others at GH Leh.

India's domestic output of PPEs has now almost reached 2,50,000 per day. The country is also manufacturing around 2 lakh N95 masks on a daily basis. Prices are falling. I think India might start considering exports of both.

Main lesson for India. Set up the Integrated Rocket Force super quick and practise the 'right' kind of drills with it. India also needs to review the size of its nuke deterrent.

PPE production is a major success story for India in the midst of all this. Almost, overnight a Rs 7,000 crore industry for medical textiles has emerged. Best part is, Indian made PPEs for as less as Rs 550/- are hitting the market.

BTW, an Akash SAM bringing down a PAF F-16 was quite literally what the developers all those years ago envisioned when they embarked on the programme as part of IGMDP.

Mark my words, today's successful first ever anti-satellite (ASAT) test by India is in no way of less import than the 1998 nuclear tests conducted in Pokharan. Which is exactly why I have long advocated a demonstration of this capability.
