It's always terrific to meet with the remarkable participants in the AJC-Konrad Adenauer Foundation leadership program and discuss Holocaust memory and education with these up-and-coming young German leaders. @AJCGlobal @KAS_USA

Today in Jedwabne we honored the memory of the hundreds of Jews killed by their Polish neighbors 85 years ago and reaffirmed our commitment to preserving the historical truth of what happened there.

What an amazing chance today to see the Warsaw Ghetto Museum, under construction in the old ghetto hospital building, and Miła 18, site of underground bunkers for the ghetto uprising leaders. This will be an important and impressive museum when finished. I'll be back to see it.

It was good to see Chief Rabbi of Poland Michael Schudrich today, to talk about many issues including the challenges of preserving Jewish cemeteries in Poland.

Holocaust distortion is increasing worldwide, so studying, learning, and commemorating the Holocaust is more important than ever. Thank you to @AmbasciataUSA in Rome and @USinHolySee for an excellent visit and for your support in these areas.

We must preserve the evidence of the Holocaust. The Arolsen Archive is the world's largest repository of documentation of victims of Nazi persecution. At the Arolsen meeting this week, iwe are talking about how to preserve and transmit the truth about that period.

In November 1938, the law on "Measures for the Defense of the Italian Race" was enacted and a register of the approximately 15,000 Jews in Rome was compiled. It was sobering to look at the names in that register at the State Archives of Rome today.

The Lost Shtetl Museum in Šeduva is a powerful reminder of Lithuania's centuries-long Jewish history and of all that was lost in the Holocaust. Its artifacts and personal stories, and the adjacent cemetery, unforgettably evoke daily life in the pre-WWII shtetl. @USEmbVilnius

Between June and September 1941, thousands of Jews were murdered in Ukmerge and the Pivonija Forest by the Nazis and their Lithuanian collaborators. The quiet forest clearing where the memorial stands makes a stark, moving contrast to the horror that happened here. @USEmbVilnius
